2020 Coudert Fleurie Clos de la Roilette Gamay
Cooked and way too warm in its style for my taste. Flawed?

Nose with iron, hint of blood and cherries. After 3-4 hours of air the fruit was also appearing quite nicely on the palate. Well balanced, stringent, elegant.

7/4/20, 8:42 AM - Good question. I really enjoyed it, but at the same time I had the feeling that more was lurking under the surface. In the end I'd say it definitely didn't seem as a wine that would be closing down any time soon.

was hard to believe this was a 14yr old wine. colour was super bright, nose matched that. fruit was a bit muted on the palate but was still very good. cork was almost soaked through and the side of the cork was corroded, seemed odd but the wine was fine.

1/21/17, 1:39 AM - Cork on mine was in exactly the same state. Got me worried the wine was flawed but also here the wine was fine. Strange.

Lovely nose with vanilla, amarena cherries and summerday on the heath.
On the palate the amarena cherries are let loose together with very well controlled tannins and perfect acidity.

3/23/14, 9:50 AM - Thanks. Guess the wine stimulated more lyrical notes than usual :-).

Fresh blackberries, cherries and a bit of moist cellar on the nose. On the palate blackberries, leather and something mineral, that I can't quite pinpoint. Quite powerful tannins, nicely balanced with acid. So far the 2003 and 2004 Argianos had me more impressed, but with this one it's as if there's something really good lurking around the corner. I just can't get to it quite yet. Maybe a year or two in the cellar will do it?

Let it air for a at least a couple of hours and definitely don't serve it too warm.
