Not giving up much now - even on day 2, so don't touch for a few years.

Needs a bit more time in bottle to come together but still drinking well today. Certainly enjoyed the 08 over this.

Very aromatic and drinking well now but think this will improve a bit with some time in bottle although it will be hard to resist.

94 points for now. Definitely needs some time to mature before it is ready to drink. I expect this to improve in bottle when mature and gain a few points.

Pop and pour. Certainly needs some additional time in bottle and will probably gain a couple points when ready to drink in a few years. Think this will be 94-95 then.

Sadly this is my last bottle of this wine, as it is drinking so good now, and still has a few years left. Tart cherry, earth, a slight bit of funk, cranberry and good acidity. A great nose and drinking well as soon as I opened it.

This was nothing like the previous bottle of this I had in April 2011. This bottle tasted like cough syrup and had burning alcohol on the back-end. Not enjoyable at all. I have one more left and hoping it is more like the first bottle I drank.

Drank this after a 2006 Carlisle Rossi Ranch Zinfandel and this was very hot and over the top. Almost pruney lots of alcohol. You could tell this was well made and maybe would have shown better if it was not after the Carlisle.

Decanted 6 hours and continued to drink over another 2 hours. This needs a long decant or a few more years in the cellar. Let rest for another 3 - 5 years.

Decanted for 2 hours and continued getting better through the last sip. I think this is just starting to show some of its potential. I think it needs more time in the bottle to develop and should reward patience in a few years.

I did not like this as much as the 2007 at the same point. Nor do I like it as much as the 2007 is currently drinking although I know this is not fair sinc ethe 2007 has a year in bottle. The 2008 seemed a little sweet and lacked the depth and complxity of the 2007. Maybe over time this will flesh out a little. It is pretty concentrated and full-bodied.

Pop and pour. Nice concentration. Plum, licorice, slight floral componenet, spices, with a bit of black pepper on the finish. I am not much of a Malbec fan, but this is very good.

Did not decant. Rich and ripe, with blackberry, licorice, plum, briery fruits, spice, and pepper. Very balanced and up front. Drinking very well now, but I am sure this will last several years.

Did not decant. Dark fruits, still quite young but drinking very well. Great expression of cabernet. Right off the bat you can tell this is Howell Mountain fruit. This has a long life ahead of it. I think this will improve a little with additional time in the bottle.

I think this wine gets better every time I drink it. Tangerine, nectarine, pear, and honey. Layered, full-bodied, but with terrific acidity. Much darker in color than most Chardonnay's. I was unsure of whether I was going to buy the 2008 or not and this sealed the deal - I love these Chardonnay's.

Not quite as good as the last bottle consumed back in January but still very enjoyable. The nose on this is very nice. This is full of fruit, including raspberry, plum, cherry, cranberry, cinnamon, cola, and spice. Slightly tart. Somewhat ripe but definitely not over-ripe. This is very balanced - no sign of alcohol. What a pleasure to drink. I believe this is just entering into the peak drinking window and will remain here for a few years.

Did not decant. Drinking well, although I have not had this in almost two years, it seems to have lost a little of its fruit and is a little lighter than I recall the last bottle. I think I enjoyed this more in its youth with all the fruit. It did seem to improve a little with some air time, so a 1 hour decant would probably be the way to go.

This bottle did not show as well as the previous two bottles. The alcohol was a little more noticeable and seemed to lack some of the vibrancy of previous bottles. The pineapple and tropical fruits were still there but it just seemed slightly out of balance.

Pop and pour. Drinking very well now. Lots of blackberry along with some beef blood, pepper, lavender, and some road tar on the finish. This is rich and full-bodied, not to mention a great value! Should last 5 more years without any decline. Glad to have several more of these.

Pop and pour. This wine is drinking great from the start - very open and just a classic zinfandel with lots of red and black fruits along with some white pepper and spice. Not sure it will get any better than it is now, and should stay at this level for a few more years. The 2006 Zinfandels from Carlisle seem to be drinking very well now. Gald I have a few more of these.

The aromatics immediately hit me as soon as I poured it into the glass. Lots of dark fruit, including cherry, licorice, and black raspberries along with earth, pepper, and a bit of smoke. Drinking great now with no decant and should continue to drink well for a few years.

The aromas jumped from the galss as soon as I poured it. Wonderful aromatics of cherry, slight bit of pepper, lots of red fruits. This is a great zinfandel that is drinking very well now. The first of my 2006's and I am looking forward to drinking the rest of them soon. I can't imagine this getting any better with time, however, it should stay at this level for a couple years.

Pop and pour on night 1: Blackberry, huckleberry, boysenberry with a slight tartness to the fruit but it is not in a bad way. The fruit is wonderful and pure. I think I liked the 2007 slightly better but this will continue to develop more complexity with time.

Night 2: Not nearly as enjoyable as night 1. More muted nose and not giving up as much in the mouth. Seems like the fruit subsided a bit.
