Seems to be more than usual bottle variation this vintage. One bottle was awful - like a very bad industrial Chianti. Others have been very good. Not a classic Musar. Lots of acidity, fair length, more red fruit than forest floor.

Have tried 3 bottles now. Pretty significant bottle variation. Last one was weird. Opened and it was horrible. Slightly corked, thin, acidic. Second night no better. Put it aside with the cork in it, to use cooking. Tried it a week later, about to make some moose stew with it - and it was singing. Not the best Musar ever, but Musar none the less. 92

Opened and drank over three nights. The first night I would rate it 90 points. Fresh, especially for a Musar, great acidity, clear fruit. A bit of a hollow mid palate. Second night 92 points - mid palate filled in, darker fruit, a medium bodied wine with a lot of intensity. 3rd night - absolutely singing, clear balanced fruit, acidity and tannins. If it was a 1st growth, it would get 95 points easy and cost 1,000 bucks.

I am fortunate to often get to taste this wine alongside 1st growth Bordeaux. It consistently blows them away. The 2003 is astounding, a great Musar vintage. Intense dark fruit, but not jammy, or cooked or overblown. Just enough barnyard and forest floor to add layers of complexity to the fruit. Thank god most critics underrate this wine, or ignore it.

Amazing, profound wine. Waxy, baked fruits, almonds. While this wine reminds me of old school Rioja or CDP, comparisons are odious in the end. There's nothing quite like white Musar, its unique, challenging and stands on its own. Baked fruits , nuts, waxy - the best white Musar I've had, and singing tonight. In absolute balance, with enough acidity and power to hold up to rich food (Chiii Relleno!).

Floral, some mineral and intense but not sloppy fruit. Very balanced and precise. If it had more earthy notes it would be incredible, especially for the price (and it isn't cheap in BC) This is a seriously pretty wine, and I suspect if it came from some place else, and cost three times as much, it would be getting even higher scores.

This had to be a bad bottle. Reminiscent of cheap jug wine. Fruit was there, but yech, too sweet, very much an awkward new world wine. Medicinal. Maybe it was corked.
