Popped and poured. Showing exuberant dark cherry and spice notes. Generous mid-palate with notes of black tea. This bottle was very, very good.

Delicious bottle last night - good breadth and texture, very generous Pinot Noir character showing through nicely. Last of my 2016s, onto the 2017s!

Burgundian, in the best sense. The 2016 Soujourner Pinot Noir was mercurial, changing through out the evening. Red fruited, than darker fruits emerge later. Meat, blood and iron notes weave in and out. Elegant, balanced and a very interesting glass of wine to enjoy.

The 2016 En Cerise Syrah, while young was superb. Warm stones, violets, green olive tapenade, and, stay with me, the moment when you first open your Zojirushi rice cooker and you smell the freshly steamed rice. Balanced on the palate, crunchy blue and purple fruit. Savory and fresh. Really drinkable and delivering lots of interesting complexity and flavors.

Delicious now- popped and poured - still dark ruby in color but with a little bricking, and no sediment. Dark fruited, perfumed, a bit silkier than a bottle about two years ago. Really happy to have consumed this over two evenings.

First time having a Reynvaan wine - dark ruby in color. Aromas of dark fruits, iodine, a little smoke, some warm stones, floral notes. Pretty appealing aromatics right out of the gate. On the palate, medium bodied, and good restrained elegant presence on the palate. Finish lingers gently. The wine is dry, and if tasted blind, I would have guessed Northern Rhone.

Bottle drinks well into the third day. Super balanced, interesting, and aromatically compelling already. This Francophile is sold.

Lovely Chambolle-Musigny 2013 from Bertheau. Pop and pour, medium bodied red fruits, good minerality and verve. Just a pleasure to drink and enjoy. Not a stunner, but a wine that puts a smile on my face. Red burgundy for my soul.

This was a pretty good bottle of Bordeaux - dark fruited, a little tobacco, slightly saline, medium-bodied claret. A civilized glass of wine, very easy to drink (pop and pour). Purchased at my local Wegmans (of all places!) and drinking very well today.

Wonderful yet still very young bottle of Felsina - I learned not to open my Rancias with less than 10 years of bottle age, and this is no exception. Opened and slow-oxed for about 4 hours before pouring first glass. Very dark and inky, yet perfumed bottle of Sangiovese- structured, fine grain tannins and slightly austere on the palate. However opened up very nicely by about 7 hours after opening and went very nicely with sunday night meatballs and spaghetti, and was drinking very nicely later on in the evening. Delicious but could still benefit with more bottle age.

Still a nice, dark ruby color - aromas of autumn (leaves, sweet root vegetables) and red fruit. Still fresh, vibrant and delicious.

Very nice bottle of wine - balanced, dark fruited, with good acidity. Some notes of herbs and just a touch of funk underneath. Not as horsey as bottles opened two years ago, and has settled in nicely. Very nice with kebabs.

Wonderful Barolo- especially for this evening as it was a pop and pour and it was giving and generous from the get go. Dark fruited, silky and unmistakably Nebbiolo. Paired wonderfully with Farfalle in veal, porcini and spinach.

Wonderful purity. Elegant, sleek and no hint of heat. Light to medium-bodied, but quite pleasurable, like a good village red burgundy. Looking forward to trying this producer's Brunello bottling.

My second bottle of this - I feel this is not as good as the Dofis from around the late 90's (96, 98, 99, 2000 and 2001). Those wines for me were reference Spanish wines and I saved them for special occasions and they never let me down. Great silky texture, noble tannins, unmistakable schist mineral streak. This wine really falls short by a wide margin. It's an OK wine and it's drinkable but no where near what this wine used to do for me.

Popped and poured - ripe yellow fruits and some caramel-like notes. A big wine on the palate, though the finish is clipped. A little more oaky/malolactic fermentation than I usually like my wines, though there is good mineral and fruit there.

Really, you can't ask for any more from a white wine at this price. Balanced with great acidity, texture, fruit and minerality. I found my go-to summer sipper.

Dark-fruited, structured wine with fine tannins and high acidity. The wine budged little with an hour of airtime, but started to open up around three hours. Will never be a flashy wine, but folks who like traditional wines should enjoy this with 3-5 years in the cellar.

Significantly more barnyard elements than previous bottles. If you are shy about this, decant several hours ahead or open the day before. Still a lovely drink with good balance and complexity for a $11 bottle of wine.

I really liked this wine - softer and fragrant, a Nebbiolo that is fine for early consumption. It does benefit from some airtime upon opening and is a better glass the next day.

Light-plus, medium-minus in body. Elegant yet classical in structure - red fruited, some hints of leather but withholding right now, like a tight flower bud. I think with 3-5 years of bottle age the aromatics are going to be superb, and it should be a delightful bottle.

Nice bottle of wine - delicate, elegant and nuanced would be a good description. This St. Aubin packs in nice chalky minerality, crunch yellow fruit (pears, crisp apples) and a subtle amount of oak, with good acidity. A nice partner to seared scallops and mushroom risottos.

a new producer for me, and a new 1er Cru - a disconnect wine for me in that there's a layer of great acidity and freshness, and then a layer of mature burgundy flavors like beeswax, honeyed yellow fruits. Almost like tasting two separate wines in the same glass, and to me a little jarring.

From 1.5L. Dark ruby in color. At first meaty, almost bloody notes in the wine give way to finesse-driven dark red, crunchy fruit. Some underbrush notes also show up. Quote difficult to tell this was from 2003- drinking very nicely today.
