Day 2 for bottle. Marked improvement over day 1 - demonstrates the need for a few years in bottle, IMO. Dark crimson. Earth, sour cherry and raspberry a touch of tea on the nose. Confirmed those elements when tasted, with a bit of strawberry in the mix. The oak and the structure receded so the fruit came through more. Overall, very nice indeed.

Big, deep, rich. Stunning fruit. Dark, saturated, black-fruited. Soil / earthy. Prominent oak that needs time to become integrated: this will be better in a few years as the oak recedes.

Really, really enjoyable. Dark fruit, mostly black, some red. Soil. Some oak. The quality of the fruit comes through. Beautiful. Way too easy to drink, the kind of wine I can drink for hours over a meal with friends.

A fantastic Chianti Classico and great value for the quality. Even more enjoyable with food, but doesn’t need a meal with it to be a great glass of wine.

2010 Ca' Di Pesa Chianti Classico Chianti Classico DOCG Sangiovese Blend, Sangiovese (view label images)
Black and red fruit, good structure, some vanilla from oak. Beautifully soft, silky but also acid to provide freshness. Seductive and hard to stop drinking. Still has 5-7 years of life, but no need to wait. Best Chianti Classico I've had.
Red
Second night, after storing in the fridge. Much juicier and more open. A bit of red sweet fruits, and earth, with upfront, fine tannins. Rounder and softer than the first night, trading energy and freshness for sweet fruit and tannin.
Red
Bright red, very transparent and bright. Evidently not dense or extracted - even a bit pale/watery at the bricking edges. Nose of earth, dried cherries. Fresh is the first word I think of, then earthy and savory with a touch of sweetness and a bit of bitterness/spiciness coming from the stems. Some tannin on the finish. A good drink now.
Red
Garnet. Pale meniscus. Red berry/dried cherry nose. Some pine, earth. Precise, crystalline, red berry (raspberry) in the mouth. A hint of bitter on the finish. Fine tannins. Elegant. Reticent at opening, better with some air. Enjoyable for its elegance - has depth, complexity, but balanced and not sweet or hot.

Bright red. Pale. Clear at the edge. Waited 15 mins for funk to blow off. Bright, transparent purplish-red; cool fruit nose - raspberry - with good acid. Easy with food. My wife noted it was lacking a bit of concentration, but I liked the elegance.
Red
Very pale brick color. Sweet, lacking both fruit and intensity. The youthful energy was gone and nothing replaced it. Maybe a bad bottle?

2010 Maison Ilan Chambertin Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir (view label images)
A little reduction that blew off. Intense red fruit. Complex. Nice grip. Powerful, but not heavy or tiring. Savory, not sweet. Very enjoyable. I drank it to test its character: young and juicy at this point...all about potential, for me.

Big wine. Opaque. Lots of stuffing. Rich, deep, powerful, but not heavy at all. Classic new CA cab style - Napa fruit really comes through. Very well done. Needed time to open up - tight. Very enjoyable. Loved it.
Red
Very nice wine. Deep, lush, balanced, not at all cloying or heavy. Polished, but not unattractively. Throwing a lot of sediment. Really enjoyable. Needs time in decanter to open up.

Drunk over 3 days. Better each day. Tight. Precise. Intense. Delicious. Needs time and will be even better.

On the first night, I opened this and decided it was well over the hill or suffering from storage issues, but re-corked it and left it for night 2. What a difference. It gained weight and fruit...earth, forest floor, black cherry and Vosne spice. Very nice, with integrated tannins. Enjoyable.

Red-purple color, red fruit/raspberry and a whiff of menthol on the nose, cool red fruit in the mouth. A bit of warmth at the back end. Big and flashy, but given that, feels like it's missing some mid-palate weight. Better with time in the glass. Needs time...not sure what it will become, but interested to see in a couple years.
Red
Beautiful, mature claret. Great sweet fruit, cedar, integrated tannins. A real pleasure.
White
Beautiful, bright but deep gold raised concerns of premox, but it was fine. Reticent at first, but becoming almost painful in its intensity, lots of acidity, lemon, custard, stones. Nice wine. Very enjoyable
Red
Straightforward, juicy, good depth of red fruit. Purple-red color, showing its youth. Easy to quaff. Good balance - no candied sweetness or noticeable alcohol on the finish, which are real turn-offs for me.

Great nose, complex, very pretty. To taste: refined, red berries, spice, silky tannins emerge at the end. Beautiful and elegant.
Red
Medium body. Cool red berry on the nose (raspberry, mostly) and in the mouth. Earthy, sauvage. Tannins poke through mid-way to the somewhat drying finish.
White
Nice. Young. Medium body. Very noticeable oak. Broad but some elegance.

Classic claret. Very enjoyable. Pretty ruby color, turning brick at the edge. Cedar and blackcurrant on the palate. Tannins integrated. Truly enjoyable with a perfectly cooked piece of beef.

I would describe this wine as "good," and almost excellent, hence the score. Mature claret with no more positive evolution left, brick at the edge, with red fruit, earth and leather. Integrated tannins, smooth finish, nice balance. A very enjoyable wine with beef tenderloin and a green salad.
Red
Nice, but not special. Fruit-forward, dark berries on nose and palate, with some tannin and structure. Easy to drink, but lacked depth and needed a bit more acid.

Very good, if uninspired. Dark ruby color. Cherry, black cherry on the nose and palate. Ripe, fruit-forward, a bit sweet, feels round/lacks focus in the mouth. Good intensity. Lower acid.

Pleasant. Very easy to drink. Followed it over two nights. Modern-style cab that's approachable now. Purple rim, fruity nose, some chocolate and spice. To taste, sweet black fruit, cassis, chocolate, some softer (wood?) tannins. Sufficient acidity to balance and keep it from being cloying. No idea what it will become, but it's enjoyable now.
Red
From magnum. Beautiful mature claret with cedar, cassis, leather. Well-integrated tannins and very nice balance. A real treat.

Immediate nose of spice, raspberry and oak. Spice, raspberry and very obvious new oak in the mouth. Need time for the oak to integrate. Upside, but needs 5-10 years more.

Slow-O'd for 2 hours, then double decanted to go to the restaurant and finally 30 mins in decanter. Beautiful, mature cedar/cigar box, cassis. Smooth, complex and in balance. Really nice and reminded me that I enjoy Bordeaux with some age
Red
Ripe, red fruit. Nice concentration. Good balance. Young, and glad I have more.

Pineapple, butterscotch, melon, lemon/citrus. Almost viscous texture. Lots of acid. On the brink of painfully intense. Balanced, but the tropical fruit and butterscotch takes it out of my sweet spot.

A beautiful, transparent ruby. A beautiful nose - floral, with red fruit, and a bit of pine and spice. Elegantly intense and surprisingly open, and still obviously young and primary. Very nice, with tons of upside. My first Anthill and I'm a convert

Pretty, medium-red color, with a touch of purple. Reticent nose, opening eventually to red fruit and spice. Elegant, noticeable tannins and stems, only showing a hint of sweetness with black cherry, cranberry toward the finish. Enjoyable now, and will improve with time.

I knew I was commiitting infanticide, but couldn't help myself. Beautiful yellow with greenish cast apparent. After 30 mins opened up. Beautiful wine. Great purity. Extraordinary concentration and mouthfeel. Some fat, but stll great precision. Long finish. Can't wait to see what this becomes in 10+ years.
