Not sure if oxidized or just generally too old/off/not good.

Stewed fruit, bruised apple, flat. Drink these up, or peddle on guests who may not know any better.

cork gored out easily, wine tastes of rot and oxidative notes. bottle's dead.

Fruit is gone. Opened to a fecal experience, which evolved with air into decaying leaves, moss-covered rock. No detectable flaw, but not very pleasurable.

Fresh and young. Bright high-toned red fruit. Sweet and juicy. Acid is there, but not excessive. Not getting as much vegetal character as other notes. Would be interesting to drink aged, but I think a lot of the wine is based in the fruit, and 5 years from now this wine could just be bland.
Red
2011 Ridge Lytton Springs Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel Blend, Zinfandel (view label images)
11/22/2013 - njc2o Likes this wine:
c: very young, dark, thick-rimmed/meniscus maroon/purple.
n: creamy oak, dark berry fruit. not wildly expressive 15 minutes after opening. something vegetal going on as well.
t: plush mouthfeel, chewy tannin. med+ acid. some coffee and tobacco supporting red/black berry fruit profile. nicely balanced. no zinfandel jam or gloopy character. another hint of seedy/stemmy green profile, which i don't recall getting out of a ridge wine.

something in the 88-92 area if i had to score (which i won't, as i'm on the tail end of a cold, and this is stupid young and could use decanting)

vivid but pale yellow color. flint, smoke, lemon curd on nose. palate consistent with my experience with folatieres. mouth-watering acidity with predominant lime notes. lemon, stone, ash, also present with a nice fat mouthfeel and solid finish. just intense is the word to describe it. just love these wines so much. 93

Big boy. Needs time. Has the stuffing, and some balance. Just an explosion on the midpalate that is tough to get through.

Light sweet red fruit. Reticent nose, opening with air to cranberry and dust. Palate is light and pleasant, but not knocking my socks off. Acidity outpaces the fruit slightly, but a pleasant drink with food to even out the acidity. A bit much by itself. Drink now.

Rich dark Pinot color. Nose of tart cherry and pomegranate, grilled herb, underbrush/earth. Bright tart red fruit on palate. Fruit profile and tannins border on astringency. Very strong cola note that gives that bad acidic note. Fruit can't keep p. tannin grain is ok. Finish is ok. Average.

Color is youthful, and on the darker side. Nose is funky. Cured meat, earth, saline, sweat, and cranberry sauce. Some tart cherry with air. Palate has considerable lack of fruit for a 2006. Soy, anchovy, minerality and a cheesy funk. Good weight, avg finish. Curious, but not pleasurable. Structure is there, tannins provide nice mouthfeel. Maybe in 5 years? Awkward stage ?

Deep red/pink. Lively red fruit on the nose. Watermelon, cherry candy, and an interesting chalky minerality which is unexpected. Palate lacks the acidity I'd like to see, some rs. Nice weight on the palate. Red sugary fruit almost like strawberry starburst. Some nice drying sensation to balance. A little acidity kick would put this over the top. Good for the price, and remaining bottles will surely be well-received poolside this summer

Saturday Afternoon Tasting (German Village, Columbus, Ohio): color: very pale straw-yellow. nose: giving up little. basically non-existent. vague rubbery/plastic sensation, but that may be ambient in the room, as i'm struggling to pull out anything from this. palate: nice weight. floral/herbaceous sensation on the mid palate. awkward astringent acidity kick on the back with a wollop of alcohol. finish has decent length. awkward wine.

Impromptu Columbus, Ohio WineBerserkers Offline (German Village, Columbus, Ohio): Relatively tight on the nose, giving up some tropical fruit and minerality. Palate is amazing blast of acid, fruit, and oak, all very well integrated. Lemon zest, steel, flint, kiss of vanillin oak. Tremendous weight on the palate, and finish went forever. WOTN without a doubt for me.

Not in a good room to evaluate color, but it did not appear to show considerable bricking from what I could see. Youthful for its age.
Nose of black cherry, forest floor. Expressive.
Palate was delicious. Med+ acid. Black currant, bright black cherry flavor. Coffee. Tannins smooth. Decent heft, but not outstanding. Finish not as long to make it a blow-me-away wine.. Still in a great place, if you're cellaring, think about popping the 750s.
