This is a good time for drinking this vintage -- right now it is within a very nice space -- it has matured and has the signature blend of tastes and smells.

Still excellent -- but agree with other recent reviews that this was the time to open and enjoy it -- the flavors are all there, but its not quite the 'out of the ballpark' hit that we'd been expecting. This was opened for a birthday celebration, and perhaps we'd anticipated it too strongly from the other bottles. Really one to be savored and enjoyed.

I'm happy to note that this is back to an excellent drinking window. The one bottle could have been slightly off or simply mis-timed. Aftertaste is long, filled with traditional notes and the mouth-feel is 'on'.

Drinking well and a nice comparison to the previous bottles. I continue to feel this was excellent QPR. Earlier scores may have been a bit high relative to my current sense of taste. But, this was nicely made and has aged well.

Starting to fade from its best, but still enjoyed -- great QPR and pairs well with food -- if you've any left in cellar, this is probably a good time to be finishing it up --

This last bottle was improved from the previous one, and is now nearly back to the initial reviews of the set of 8 (from 2014). It paired very well with the meal.

I was curious to taste this 2nd bottle, especially since the 1st one may have been too early on in the aging process. The current reviews inspired my sense that this was a good time. Its possible that something went wrong with the two bottles that I had purchased (via Lot 18 in 2012 and in temperature control). But, this one is clearly not flawed or obviously gone bad. I am not feeling overwhelmed with this. To my taste it is now flaccid, without any obvious energy and without much structure. The nose is excellent, as others have noted. But the initial taste is bitter, and then there is no aftertaste. The acid is still strong. Tannins are modest. I would put this as like an older plush silk liner, that is comfortable, but not with real depth or focus. I also am agreeing that this needs air-time. First taste after opening was overwhelmingly acidic without much flavor. It peaked about 1/2-hour out, and then kept getting more flaccid. Its also possible that I opened too early and then too late, so that with only two bottles, that I didn't time this right. If this 2nd bottle is typical, then this is one to open soon, rather than waiting anymore for aging. I certainly wanted to be positive about this, so apologies to those reading this hoping for a positive review.

Most likely on its way down, so worth opening if you've not already. This remains tart and acidic. Its not all that enjoyable on its own, and may be a style that is not appealing to some, but it should pair well with certain styles of food.

I agree with the other recent reviews, this is integrated well right now. Also, checked Tablas Creek for their vintage chart, and this is in the 'drinking well:mature' column. I was also curious, since I did open the 2015 one a bit early to compare this one with the 2015. The main difference is the integration, this feels relaxed, like it has finished the journey. I also note, to my taste, that this is simply structured and fairly linear, so its not so much like a strong Rhone wine, as more delicate and nuanced. So, right now, more on the precise axis, than overwhelming with tannins, acids or fruit. If you have any in cellar, this seems like a good time to be enjoying it. [one other note, is that this was purchased in 2014, so roughly 5.5 years in cellar]

Probably should have waited longer on this (purchased 2017) -- still an excellent wine and pairs well with food -- the potential for this to continue improving is there --
[note: right now scored as 'drinking well:youthful' on Tablas Creek vintage chart]

As others have noted, this would benefit from stlll more aging time - this was purchased in 2013, and probably should have purchased a case -- but, certainly drinking well right now --

purchased in 2015, and would still benefit from more aging time -- drinking well and already excellent, but as noted by others, benefits from decanting and letting it open up --

This took some time to really open up. Right out of the bottle it was underwhelming. But, with some time, it transformed nicely. At the peak it had a nice sense of structure with depth and life. At the start it felt underpowered -- lacking any energy and even a bit tense. So, this may need still more time in the cellar. I did come away feeling ready to get more.

Similar to other reviewers -- excellent QPR and a good food wine -- oak and earth overtones, modest linearity with some sense of depth, but not much overall structure.

Excellent QPR. As noted by another reviewer this does 'perform above its price'. An interesting style and well worth having. It also pairs well with food.
