Wonderful, delicate floral Barolo. Unquestionably my favorite Cannubi of the night. Greatwinesworld Miami Beach 2024

Red
Delicious wine somewhat bigger than it’s sibling yet still showing restraint as apposed to the many ‘new world’ Brunello at the Greatwinesworld Miami Beach 2024.
Red
Delicious wine displaying elegant restraint among the many overblown Brunello at the Greatwinesworld Miami Beach 2024.
Red
Agree completely with MHENSEL. Terrific juice. One of my WOTN at Greatwinesworld Miami Beach 2024
Red
2020 Castello di Bossi Chianti Classico Riserva Berardo Chianti Classico DOCG Sangiovese Blend, Sangiovese (view label images)
Had it at the Great Wines World Miami Beach 2024. Shown quite well among all other Chianti.
White
Five year old white showing very well. Salty, oily, nice minerality and a touch of lemon. A full body Chablis perhaps?
Red
Had this at the Wine on Wheels Tasting, NYC Pier 57 September 10 2023.
Everything that I desire in a Burgundy.
My favorite wine of the entire event. Tasted twice.

Had this at the Wine on Wheels Tasting Pier 57 NYC September 10 2023.
Showed beautifully. Of the many lovely wines there this was in my top three. Tased twice.
Red
Mature, at a perfect point to drink. Absolutely not faded or past it's peak. My cousin said wow this is smooth, you could get in trouble with this. Wish I had bought more...
White - Sparkling
Surprise find from Garagiste. Very fruit forward with no dosage. Perfect aperitif or serve it at a party. I will look for more.
Rosé
Genuine cab franc extraction with an ethereal presence. Woke up too late and missed the current 2019 Garagiste offering. Je suis désolé!

Too sweet. A modern style with an inflated score. I suspect the 13.5% alcohol is inaccurate.

Different animal two years later. Fruit has mellowed and tannins have taken a more white paper like quality. Nice rose scent. Still quite young.
Red
Opened up after an hour. Iron, black fruit, earth, forest floor and acid.
Not over the top is a strong point. Years of life left. I like it.
White
Delicious, quaffable, inexpensive White Burgundy. What more can you want?
Certainly, no Chardonnay around here comes close for $25.00.
Red
Lovely blue and red fruit. Ripe but definitely not overripe.
The 25% Cab Franc absolutely makes this wine stand out from the crowded Napa Valley field. It is a pity that this balanced and, for Califonia winemaking, a somewhat understated style is underappreciated.

White
A bit sweet and round but none the less delicious on a hot summer day. More lemon and minerals than anything California brings to the table at this price point.

Liquid meat. Beef jerky, dried mushroom, soy and a touch of fish sauce. The closest taste to animal flesh for this vegan.
WOTN among much more expensive yet less interesting wines. Unanimously chosen while I ate my plants and they their steaks.

Beginning to drink very well. Dark cherry, meat, mushroom, and acid.
A crime I opened these too early in their development.

Pure, mineral driven and delicious. 12.5% alcohol.
American winemakers are you listening?

Love the 2011. By far my favorite Piers Saffran vintage. I am just finishing the bottle on night three. No refrigeration, just kept in a cool room. Drinking as strong as day one. This reminds me of the 2011 Woodward Canyon Artist Series also my favorite vintage of that wine.
Washington state cool fruited years take me places Napa just doesn't seem to understand.

2012 Château Brethous Cuvée Prestige Premières Côtes de Bordeaux Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Lush fruit tempered by a green mineral flecked background. Six years in the bottle puts this in a nice place. Tasted blind it could easily be mistaken for a Washington State Merlot blend at half the price.

Really like this wine as an everyday drinker.
Red
It is in such a good place right now.
Savory, olives, mint and forest floor.
Fantastic at this price point.

Stands squarely in the new world camp. Too sweet, too much fruit.
Red
Never a fan of GSM but this one breaks the mold.
Thankfully not Syrah forward. Lots of high altitude rocky minerals.
Beginning to develop secondary scents and flavors reminiscent of Pinot.
A bit hot with distinct characteristics of a low yield Sonoma field blend.
Fruit without sweetness. Beautifully balanced acidity.
More proof that taste trumps price and hype.

Wanted to love it but was past it's prime. Deteriorated further with exposure to air.

Rosé
Tart cherry, cranberry, strawberry with a hint of rhubarb. The abundance of fruit marries perfectly with the underlying acidity. An interesting, quaffable glass of deliciousness. Yesterday I spent more than the cost of this entire bottle for one glass of French rose' that offered less enjoyment.

Light, bright, quite dry. 12% alcohol. Not at all flabby. Tasty with a nice price point. Purchased from Somm Select.
Red
In a very good place right now for a less than $20 Medoc.
Perfect week night dinner wine.
Red
I agree 100% with Joncohen's description. Looking at the color and smelling the very ripe fruit I was expecting to be disappointed. But father time with his magical key opened the door to a world of relaxed tannins and more importantly vibrant minerals. This is a close approximation to Bedrock's field blends. We just drink these wines before their time. Wait and be pleased.

Wine Lovers of Connecticut South African wine dinner.:
Pure unmistakable Franc flavors. Cool fruited. Reminded me of a Washington State Cab Franc. My WOTN

Had a small glass via the Coravin . Under impressed. Had another the next day, better but nothing special.Upon removing the cork a week later there was a metamorphic change. Lovely secondary flavors. Quite similar to an italian wine with slightly less acidity. Olive, earth and black cherry. Open the wine and drink it the second or third day.

2011 Tenor 2:2 Columbia Valley Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Not sure if it was tainted. Tasted like vanilla pudding. Fat and uninteresting.

Very tasty with meat, black pepper, black cherry and black olive flavors. Drinking quite well for such a young Barolo. Thank you Free Run for another winner.

What a $20 Napa Chard. could only aspire to.

A lighter style Riserva. Floral and feminine. Hiding it's 14.5% alcohol. Drinking well right now.
Red
Fruit is a little too ripe while the tannins are a bit forceful.
Some restraint would be appreciated.

2010 Cenyth Proprietary Sonoma County Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Had this yesterday from a Coravin. Unlike my initial encounter two years ago I was disappointed in it's fruit forward presentation.
Tasted it again today and wow! Very savory with stems and leather. It was transformed from New world to Old world like it just stepped off the plane from France. Got to love it.
Red
Tastes like ripe red cherry juice served from a leather pouch with fresh red roses on the table. Plenty of acid to firm things up. Barnyard in the background. Hides it's 15% alcohol well. Very nice.

Surprised how well it is showing for a 2014.
Moderate tannins. Black cherry cough drop flavors. Drink tonight or drink later.

Fruit forward, jammy and sweet? No
Lively acidity, sense of place? Yes
A 13.1% new world Chinon.
Somewhat green and underripe is way more interesting than overripe, over extracted.
This is why Washington State is the bookworm and Napa is the Jock. At the end of the day who do you really want to spend more time with?
Red
2012 Wilde Farm Wines Heritage Bedrock Vineyard Sonoma Valley Zinfandel Blend, Zinfandel (view label images)
A definite old school wine. Would love to insert this into a blind wine tasting. Full of red fruit with dialed back winemaking. 14.5% alcohol yet acts as 13%. A winner, this just needed some extra time under it's belt.

Love this stuff. Nose of rose pedal and cooked meat. Savory, tart and flavorful.
Unencumbered by manipulation frequently found at this price point. Consistantly delivers a hefty dose of Nebbiolo across each vintage.
White - Sparkling
Lemon, salt, minerals, freshness, bubbles and acid. Extra Brut, no dosage, no yeasty brioche. Garagiste you know what I like. Another winner.

High acidity, sight effervescence, juicy, fruity and dry.
Fun bottle cap closure.
Red
Savory, secondary flavors of sage and grilled meats. Drinking beautifully right now. A complex wine with acidity balancing the rush of brown flavors. Not overly tannic or astringent. Lovely ripe fruit that is not sappy or sweet. It does mask it's 15% alcohol well.

Tasted a year ago and I was not impressed. Rather generic with little to recommend it other than price. Now a year later it is clawing it's way up the Cannubi ladder. Low end of the Cannubi hierarchy but evolving.
