Watermelon, under-ripe strawberry, a nice hint of the watermelon rind, river rock on the nose. More body than the average rose which I find interesting. Good acidity adds to the texture and the strawberry/rind/saline flavors linger nicely. Fun stuff!

Night 1, quite reserved/austere. Much more open on Night 2 with dark red/purple fruit, earth, potpourri notes, and hints of tobacco leaf . Juicy sour cherry in the mouth along with some cedar. Finer-grained tannins come in on the mid-palate, dry things out, and bring a bitter chocolate note to the back end. 90 with plenty of upside as things knit together.

Captivating nose. Simultaneously floral, saline, hint of meatiness, dark fruit. Clean fruit in the mouth with tannin that comes in a carries the finish. Very good now, though I think some time may help the tannin integrate. 91-92

Forward yet undeniably delicious nose of blue and black fruits. Good structure, nice texture. Brambly red and black fruits in the mouth. Spice and some heat. Hedonistic 88+.

Pale straw color. Nose is citrus, lemon, tart apple, river rock. Vibrant on entry. Starts crisp but evolves/broadens with rounder citrus and pear flavors. Well-balanced with good structure and length.

Still a little reticent or shut down after a couple hours of slow-ox. No rush to open these.

Smells good. Leathery/tobacco and dark cherry. Flavors pleasant but not particularly interesting. Surprisingly tannic in the mouth. I would guess a younger wine blind, but I don't think it's going to improve.

Dark cherries and spice on the nose. Good acidity, texture, and fruit in the mouth. Dark cherries again, hint of tobacco, cherry stones on the finish. Yes, this is a one-off but amazing QPR at $19.

Nose of stewed lemon, pineapple, pear blossoms, and petrol/rubber hose. This still has a fair amount of acidic zip in the mouth. The fruit flavors have rounded with age, citrus, spice, apricot pit. Finish is long. Pretty interesting stuff.

Saved a few of these based on how well aged Eyrie Pinot gris has shown over the past decade. Who says Pinot gris (from the right source, in the right hands) can't age?

Round citrus notes on the nose. Lemon, spice, floral, orange zest. In the mouth, the lemon/citrus is the dominate flavor. It's rich but has enough acid to avoid heaviness.

Plums, blackberries, herbs, earth, and a hint of cured meat. Like the nose a lot. Good balance on contact. Dark fruit, tobacco leaf, dark chocolate. Tannins come in on the mid-palate, drying things out, and then there's some lift on the finish.

Smells great. Blackberry patch and something earthy/gamey/teriyaki. Higher toned herbs. Finally opened up after about 3 hours. Nicely textured or entry. But this is young and the tannins come in on the mid-palate and overwhelm the flavors, which disappoint slightly based on how great this smells.

Dark cherries and damp earth on the nose. Something salty or a little savory. Good energy and balance in the mouth. Medium/light body. Red and dark cherries again. Bit of tartness. Finely grained tannins dry things out and linger on the finish. This is coming together nicely, but still has room to grow.

Smells like red cherries, baking spice, and forest floor. Something savory and a little funky as well. Alive in the mouth. Plenty of energetic cherry compote, cherry pit, and a finish that's carried by the acid and tannin. Drinks well now but will continue to improve.

This is undeniably delicious. Floral notes, wet hay, and lemon curd on the nose. Round texture and great acidity. Stony minerality in the mouth along with lemon. This is still coming across as young and powerful. Was expecting something a bit more complex or nuanced at this stage. My impression is that this has many years ahead of it for those who enjoy aged Chard.

This seemed muted. An off-bottle or has this faded rapidly in the past two years?

Very floral, herbal, hint of balsamic, and red fruited nose. The floral dynamic is really interesting, both higher toned and darker. In the mouth, it's well-balanced with tangy red fruits and good acidity. Finishes dry with some fine tannins. Tasty stuff.

Lovely perfumed nose. Floral, baking spices, and cherries. Well balanced in the mouth with good acidity, cherries, and some cherry pit bitterness. Structure is nice, but the favors don't quite live up to the promise of the nose.

Savory nose of black olive and cured meats. In the mouth, the first sensation that comes through is elegant texture. Dark berry, briney, and campfire ash flavors. Mid-weight, great balance. Long finish. This is a vibrant wine that balances elegance with darker, savory flavors.

So good. Golden lemon honey nectar of the gods. Clean nose of wet river rock, pear blossom, and grass. Lemon citrus and honey in the mouth. Pure and elegant, not overpowering or cloying. Some green apple tartness. Great texture, good acidity, and a finish that lasts and lasts.

Smells great. Primarily sour dark cherries on the nose, with something savory and herbal. Well balanced and on the lighter side, but not lacking depth or complexity. Tart in the mouth. Good acidity and drying tannins. Will improve when the palate catches up with the nose.

Ripe strawberries balsamic and black pepper on the nose. First thing I notice in the mouth is the nicely balanced weight. Neither cloying nor thin. Red fruited with some tannin coming in. Touch of heat.

I think this smells great. Dusty Oregon Pinot fruit. Dark cherries, barrel wood. Reminds me of climbing the cherry trees in our field as a kid. A bit too much oak in the mouth, but otherwise well-balanced. Structure showing young still. Decent acidity on contact and then dusty tannins coat the mouth and especially the tongue. Except for the oak, this is relatively restrained and right in my wheelhouse. If the oak integrates over the next few years, this could become a stunner.

35% Grenache, 34% Mourvedre, and 31% Syrah. Stylistically, this is right in my wheelhouse. Dark fruited, savory, black pepper, and herbaceous nose with some floral notes on the edges. Good acidity and freshness (still) on contact. Fruit is more red than dark, with spice, and some fine tannin carries the finish.

Dark nose of violets, blue/black fruit, and hints of beef jerky. Ripe but balanced on entry. The dark fruit comes in first followed closely by tannin. Deep, dark, and rich. Stylistically, I would happily trade some concentration for more meatiness or black pepper.

Quite aromatic with spices, herbs, and dark cherries. Something about the tannins or texture makes me think there's some whole cluster here. Not fully integrated. Still a little rough. Structure dominates the flavors, and drives the medium finish. 89 right now, but I wouldn't be surprised if this gained a couple points with some age.

From their website: 49% Syrah, 47% Grenache, 4% Mourvedre. 13.1% abv.

Smells like under-ripe strawberry and watermelon rind, with a nice strand of salinity, almost like warm river rock, running through. Similar flavors in the mouth. This is a bit fat, but there's enough freshness to keep it from falling off into flabby.
