Decanted 2 hours +. Truly excellent, slightly better than the also fantastic Giscours 2000.

Powerful Chardonnay with all the ingredients but if I had another bottle I'd wait a couple of years in order to let the alcohol wear down slightly. Apart from that, wonderful.

A little subdued but still a great Puligny with apple, tropical fruit and citrus on nose and palate. A well crafted wine.

Golden colour, lychee, apricot and saffron on the nose. Paired with overly sweet dessert which enhanced a bitter character in the wine. Not enough sweetness in my opinion but a good Sauternes.

Aged Bordeaux colour, at first barnyard aromas that dispense after a while. Gains complexity and roughness while in the glass. Initially amazingly lean but as I said gains complexity after a while, amazing for a wine of this age.

Despite its 20 years it has very nice and ripe cabernet/merlot fruit with a lingering finish. A bit hollow midpalate but far better than expected.

Amazing how well preserved this wine is considering it being 25 years old. Tropical fruit and sweetness well balanced out by firm acidity.

Had two bottles on the same night and they presented themselves quite differently, the first one almost Bordeaux-like with rough tannins persisting even after substantial airing, whereas the second one had beautiful nebbiolo fruit with less rough tannins and persistent finish. A beauty!

I'm not a huge fan of port but this definitely is the stuff to drink. Powerful with intense crushed red and black juicy fruit but what is also very notable is the alcohol content.

I was surprised how this wine has kept everything together considering it's been cellared for six years. Sort of toned down NZ Sauvignon Blanc which is a compliment, much more subtle than younger ones and I definitely prefer this. Nice lingering finish.

Old, not enough fruit left and short finish. However, typical Burgundy on the nose with earth, mould and red berries. Wish I had this say 5-10 years ago.

Had this during a white wine tasting. Served slightly too warm and the oak was overwhelming on the nose as well as on the palate. Not what I had hoped for, not balanced enough and not enought fruit. Acidity quite good though. Chardonnay no doubt and i Like them oaked but this didn't do it for me.

100% shiraz and definitely a wine in its own right compared to competitors in Cote Rotie. Intense dark berries on the nose and palate and has structure and acidity to make it last for years to come. Stunning.

Quite typical Cornas with intense aromas and harsh tannins. Definitely too young at the moment and didn't decant. Does it have the fruit to last several years? I'm not sure.

Fantastic wine with 80% Grenache. A lot of fruit and high in alcohol, definitely has potential for the long haul and I would give it 5 years in the cellar before trying it again.

Jammy, fruity with white pepper and olive on the nose. Initially intense with lots of jammy fruit on the palate but not a lot of acidity. I would give it a few years in the cellar but doubt that it will last much longer. Great for drinking now.

My second bottle, a disappointment but a hint of TCA on the nose that probably ruined the better part of this wine. I remember it a lot better than this. Nevertheless drinkable.

Golden, amber colour. On the nose it is quite heavy with tropical fruit but the oak is far from overwhelming. Not as heavy on the palate but shows more oak there. The character of this particular wine is not a typical Chardonnay (previous years have been) suggesting this one <ight be over the top. It actually has some traits of a Condrieu in my opinion. Nevertheless, a great wine and we're going to have it with veal w chanterelles.

Extraordinary Burgundy. Not very lovely on the nose with typical barnyard aroma but it is what to be expected. On the palate, however, the wine is astounding with ripe frit and complexity, still tannic and displaying great youth which makes me woner how long it will last. Served from Magnum.

Magnificent Champagne and drinking extremely well now. Sure, you could probably hold on to it for many years to come but I don't see the point in this case. Probably more approachable now compared to the '96 considering the year is not as formidable (still great of course). Wonderful mousse and it's crisp and refreshing on both nose and palate. Comes together beautifully and shows decent complexity.

I had higher hopes for this wine. Don't get me wrong, it's a very nice Chardonnay but I was expecting something more along the lines of Shafer's Chard which is a favourite of mine. This one, a bit restrained and not enough fruit. Elegant but lacks the power I was looking for.
