Lush, dense flavors that go on trhru an extended finish, with tannins to carry it another five years. The balance of the blend is perfect.

Just as wonderful as before. It hasn’t lost a bit of its full, well balanced flavors that reflect the character of a fine Bordeaux more than a California Cabernet.

A beautiful wine at its apex.. This is the epitome of superb Rhône wine making in California. Just one of one of the many great wines Stephen makes.

Sharp tannins intrude in the fruity flavors that are there, perhaps aging will help.

At its peak. Classic balance with perfect flavors of a blend that rivals anything from France.

Light cherry fruit lacking depth or substance. I cannot comprehend a rationale for why their pinots consistently fail to express anything special or typically Burgundian.

This may be a bad bottle but it has faded. As accessible as Law wines are on release makes you wonder how durable they are. This example is not reassuring, but may be isolated. As I approach other bottles, I will follow up.

Tight at first, but opened shorty in the glass still very good but peaked or slightly over. Drink up.

A superb Grenache with years to go. The age is adding a port like undertone to the lush fruit.

Wonderfully mature, deep garnet, fragrant and precisely balanced. Earthy, reminiscent of Haut Brion but with its own distinctive finish. Superb.

Superb. Definitely ready with rich, well developed flavors equal to a fine Bordeaux. My favorite Favia yet, and I’ve been collecting them from the beginning.

The wine was in excellent condition. Decanted for 30 minutes before tasting. It continued to open over the next hour, showing excellent balance and the structure to go on for at least five more years.

This wine is ready, as the earth tones have appeared to balance the generous fruit. It will be interesting to see where it goes from here, but if no further, I'm happy. Merci

Gordonium - I think you are right. That flavor is granny apple, which is what is wrong with this wine, which I have been wondering about for the last year. Drank the 2013 last night & it is excellent without that intrusive flavor. Maybe time will fix the problem, but if not, 2012 was a bountiful year, so we may have more of it on our hands than we want. Questions to the Winery go unanswered.

This is the ninth bottle from my collection that I have drunk over the years, and this is the best yet. The wine has arrived in all its classic characteristics. Decanted and sat for an hour before tasting. Pronounced bouquet and fully open after that. Where can it go from here? Can it match the iconic '61 which I first tasted in '91 & it was every bit what this vintage was last night.

Opened in the bottle in 20 minutes. Dark purple color with pronounced dark cherry nose. Beautiful full, rich, flavors with a long finish. My favorite Favia so far.

When we first opened it, the aroma & flavor was pronounced fruit with a leathery finish. However, as the wine got more air the tannins moved forward overwhelming the fruit. After a day, the wine is still to harsh. At $47 this is an expensive Malbec that hopefully has great potential since it is not ready to drink.

A classic Rhone blend in true California style. Rich, ripe fruit in elegant balance, softened but with underlying tannin insuring longevity. Really enjoyable demonstrating that Stephan's wines need time to fully evolve.

Disappointing, subdued compared to other wines from the Pisoni Vineyard. Very concentrated, but not the bright, lush character these grapes are capable. I'm not sure age will improve the situation
