Dark garnet purple-red.
Fruit des bois nose, some liquorice, black pepper, slight rose overtones.
Medium to medium-full bodied. Softened tannins, woodland fruits, white pepper prickle. A good example of a Cotes-du-Rhone Villages wine. Will drink well for next 2 years.
Still a great personal favourite.

Still seems quite young.
Plum-purple red.
Nose needs some time and air to develop. Sweet liquorice, leather, white pepper prickliness underlain by ripe black berry fruits, tar, developing bell-pepper sweetness and cigar tobacco.
Medium-full bodied, still some assertive tannins and leather, otherwise round and showing most of the flavours mentioned.
Good length with heavy floral notes.
2 years to peak, or already there ?

First bottle of half-case. A good C-d-R white; similar in style, weight and quality to Guigal's benchmark C-d-R . Possibly a little subtler and better.

Slightly more full-bodied than the basic C-d-R rose, but a bit light for a Tavel.

The tarry, saline nose I associate with 'La Clape'. Medium body. but not a particularly characterful example of this wine.

All Merlot.
Has aged reasonably well.
Mild light red fruit nose. Medium body, retaining some tannins, a pleasant bistro wine, much better with food than on its own.

Damask dark plum-red - just beginning to fade at edge, no browning.
Nose: rich black berry fruits: blackberry, mulberry, blackcurrant; some liquorice, some spice (mace), apple and cloves. Nedium-full, tannins softened, good depth and width of flavour (see above). What I want in a Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Great length.

Damask purple red. Lightish nose, a bit 'barnyardish', tin edged, dirty saddle leather. Supple tannins, medium body, light leather, dried out small berry fruit (eg bilberries/cranberries). Still sound, has easily held for the 9 years.
