A very delicate and perfumed Burgundy. Acid levels may be a little bit elevated for the fruit intensity, but a lightly handled, restrained and elusive wine.

Big, concentrated, juicy NZ Pinot!

Full bodied and rich with notes of ripe strawberries, raspberries. Pretty high alcohol, but the concentration of fruit carries it effortlessy.

Definitely not to be mistaken for a Burgundy PN, but well-made, balanced and true to the region.

Clear, moderate ruby core.
Clean, moderate intensity nose of developing red currants, smoke, truffles, licorice, black currants, roses and sous bois.
Dry, high acidity, moderate + intensity on the palate, medium body, low tannins. All the nose notes follow through on the palate. Mod alcohol. Long cranberry, red curant finish.

Very nicely balanced, with good complexity. VG quality. Will develop for another 5 years, and hold for up to 10 years.

Clear, deep ruby core, fading gradualy to rim.

Clean, moderate intensity of youthful aromas: black currants, black and red cherries, little mint and rosemary, some stone. There's also some alcoholic sting here.

Dry, mod+ acid, med-full body, med+ ripe tannins, med+ intensity, quite lifted flavours of black fruits, cherries, herbal elements and some licorice at end. Long lingering juicy finish.

VG quality - this wines shows great promise, but needs time to integrate. Leave for 5 years (try again 2012).

Drank 2007 - drinking beautifully. Well balanced with an intriguing nose of black fruit, blueberries and smokiness. The Malbec realy shows through.

Clear deep ruby core.

Moderate intensity on the nose - dark plums, blackfruit, smokey bbq/pork notes. Hint of that S African dust!

Dry, moderate plus acidity, moderate plus intenstity on the palate. Med-full bodied wine with hgh tannins and hgh (but supported) alcohol. Sweet raspberries, blackberries and plums (reminiscent of Douro "compote") with underpinnings of dust. Nice spiceness at the moderately lengthed finish.

Initially a moderate intense nose of mushroom, vegetal, raspberries, blueberries and floral underpinnings - definite Burgundian notes.

On the palate medium plus acidity, med-full body, medium plus intensity with low + soft tannins. Much fruitier on the palate than on the nose (the vegetal and forest notes do not come through). Red cherry lingers.

After a few hours, the interesting Burgundian aromas have disappated and the wine becomes a decent, but very NW Pinot Noir. Bit disappointing after the initial promise...

Lots of loverly red fruit - raspberries, strawberries and a hint of cranberries. Good earthy underpinings. Mod+ acidity helps to lift the fruit. Overall well balanced and drnking well.

Showed youthful aromas of juicy blackberries, blackcurrants, with underlying hints of wood, cured meats, violets and rubber. Oak realy came through on the palate.

Showed good typicity, but didn't quite have the depth or structure of other Washington Syrahs.

Relatively simple wine. Lime, citrus with an underpining of diesel. Bit clumsy and chemically on the finish.

A well balanced wine. A dark ruby colour with a savage blackcurrant, brambleberry character. Leather, spice, tea and saddle are all there on the palate. Alcohol hits on the nose, but is not overly apparanet on tha palate. Good acicidity, med tannins and moderate, slightly bitter finish. Good value.
