Very fruit forward and the cassis is extremely intense. Good but simple...

Lush, fruit forward and opulent. Quite approachable now, but has the backbone for a very long life. Love this wine!

This was a slightly corked bottle, but the wine behind had so much power and promise. Dense, rich and long this could be epic. As it was there was a caleidoscope of flavors from tomato puree to leather to grapefruit. Hope I get to taste a perfect bottle of this soon

Such a great wine. From a Mähler Negociant bottle with a not perfect level, it was just singing tonight. Camomile, leather, tobacco, great length and richness. Stunning!

Really don’t understand the average rating here. This really is world class Napa. Amazing richness and opulence, yet still very balanced. This is just amazing stuff

Way too light when pnp... after 12 hours with air this got some weight and complexity, fairly fun to drink. I will wait with my further bottles for at least 5 years

Warm nose, velvety, harmonious, some fruit, some herbs, minerals, licorice, very very long and intense. Wow, what a surprise.

From a perfectly stored bottle this was still incredibly youthful. Sweet spices, licorice, some sweet corn, coffee, blackberries, coffee yogurt, tomato paste. Opulent, sweet and long with a beautiful sweerness-bitterness play. This was not unlike the Sine Qua Nons from the late 90s, which I love.

Incredibly opulent and rich, the viognier shines through but is well balanced with the roussane adding quite impressive longevity. Still feels as if it has another 10 years of live aheaf. Great pairing for Chinese food.

The acidity is intense, still very much balanced by the wine. It doesn’t feel particularly sweet anymore though. Black tea, beeswax, a little quince. Very nice

Very closed down when opened but really started singing after about 2 hours in the decanter. Stunning texture, incredibly long. Perfectly ripe but not over ripe. Oak is incredibly well integrated. Rockstar stuff!!

Richter Raritäten Vol.VII (Magnums only) (Farnsburg): From two regular bottles. A different animal from younger Y, as they matured the dry wine in used Yquem barrels back then. This leads to a richer more opulent wine with a touch sweetness. Absolutely no sign of old age or oxidation or the like. This just drinks perfectly well
