As with all older bottles of Musar, it took a good 30+ minutes for the must to blow off and some of the tartness to mellow out, but once it did, this was another, wonderful, elegant bottle of Musar. Light-to-medium bodies with fully-integrated tannins showing a cornucopia of dark fruit and earthy flavors.

very tart up front; evolved into something special over the 1-2 hours of drinking.

3/15/22, 7:08 AM - Interestingly, I've had numerous bottles in the past that were largely fine as PNP, but this one took some time to open up. I'd say to decant it and give it 30 minutes, which should be plenty for it open up. Targeting 2 hours to start drinking is too long I think. Hope that helps!

Too early, even with significant decanting. Will be delicious in five years.

5/26/21, 7:39 PM - Good feedback, thanks. I was nervous to go PnP, but it didn’t fit my scheduling regardless. Will bear in mind when I open next bottle, but will still wait awhile as I focus on some of my older (5-10 years) Bevans, which I find to be a wonderful window for Russell’s wines.
