Disappointing. Perhaps an off bottle, but this came across as orange-flavored syrup.

An absolutely spectacular chardonnay. Had to try it young since it's my first CHEV, but this will last for years. Big and round, with nice minerality, stone fruit and a hint of honeyed sweetness. Could drink this all day long.

Initially fruit forward with a candied sweetness before quickly giving way to tart cherry. A very nice new world pinot.

Reminds me of Aubert. This wine will be substantially better in 5-10 years.

Tasted more like a Washington State Syrah. Green peppers and black olives dominate. Not my style.

Drank side-by-side with the 2002 (both in magnum). Really heavy oak (too much for my preference). Still maintains a solid, but integrated, tannic structure. Blended red fruits. Cassis. Nice, but most of the group preferred the 2002.

Drank side-by-side with the 2001 (both in magnum). This one has significantly less oak and more notable red fruit. Tannin structure pretty much fully integrated at this point. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Agree with comments from FreudianSip (what a great handle, btw). This wine is in a perfect places. Balanced, approachable, perfect mouthfeel. Blended black and blue fruits. "Could drink this all night long."

A nice wine but, honestly, a bit disappointing. Metal-dominated nose. Dark fruit, iron and tobacco on the palette. Definitely still too young with tannins that need another 5-10 years to integrate. I think this will ultimately be a beautiful wine, but don't touch it for a while still...

In a perfect spot right now. Might get better with a little more age, but simply not needed. Wonderful, fully integrated tannins. Red and blue fruit. Medium long finish.

Tried this as a pop 'n pour, but it was pop n' poor. Seriously disappointed. But wait 30 minutes and....bam! She opened up quickly and was amazing. Beautiful dark fruits, great mouthfeel, wonderfully integrated tannins. Worth it now if you decant in advance or else give it more time in the bottle.

Needs time to open. Dominant tobacco and raisin notes. Still has some tannins, but overall, very approachable after about an hour being open.

Opened 3 hours before drinking. Double decanted. Not sure if this was too much as some of the typical fruit flavors I expect with Gargiulo seem to have been missing. Would have guessed old world if I was tasting blind. Still, elegant and tasty, nonetheless.

This bottle has improved so much since I first drank it years ago. Full bodied and silky smooth, it's greatest downside is a lack of complexity. That said, it has nice dark fruit flavors and was enjoyable beginning to end!

The Talmard family has been growing wine in Mâcon since the seventeenth century. Macon is the southern most region of Burgundy that is not Beaujolais. Light yellow coloring. High acid (mouthwatering). Full bodies/voluptuous. Leads with green apple and lemon curd. Hints of vanilla and oak, but just enough to increase the complexity of the wine. This is a beautiful, surprising white Burgundy that any lover of Chardonnay should enjoy.

Initially I was going to rate this below 90. Just wasn’t working for me. Let it sit overnight and second day was WAY better, so it probably just needed a good (and unexpected) decant the first night. Really enjoyed it once it opened up.

This was very good, but not as good as I remember my last bottle being. Beautiful deep purple coloring. Wonderful aromatics, with dark red and blue fruits spiced up with lots of black pepper throughout. Plenty of life left in this wine.

Oh my. This wine is spectacular. While it clearly still has years of age left on it, it is drinking well right now. All of what could have been overbearing when this wine was young, is now borderline elegant. Bramble berry, black berry jam dominant with a hint of red fruit in the long, satisfying finish.

I have to say, when I read these reviews I thought, well, it can't be that bad. Alas, I have to agree. Undrinkable. While the nose showed some promise, the taste was significantly negatively affected by manure and overripe green peppers. Thinking that some additional time to open might be beneficial, I tried again the next day, but it was possibly even worse. Sorry to say as a fan of K Vintners.

Drank with CT friend via Zoom "bottle swap" tasting. 1 hour decant for Day 1. Fullsome body. Dark fruits (blackberry, blueberry) prevalent. Smooth integrated tannins. Medium acid. Enjoyed more and more as worked way through first glass (more decant time perhaps?). Lost a lot by the second day, so don't wait once it's opened.
