Dark ruby color, developed nose of caramel, smoked meat, jammy plum, strawberry, vanilla, and tobacco. Medium acidity, medium plus body, tannin and alcohol. Flavors were plum, vanilla, cinnamon, clove. Long finish and very smooth, integrated texture.

Brilliant pair with duck on thanksgiving.

Dark ruby color with garnet accents. Nose is clean and youthful, with notes of stewed black cherry, black currant, pepper, clay, cinnamon, toast and a hint of chocolate. The palate is dry, with medium acidity and body, medium plus alcohol, velvety mouthfeel, and flavors of black cherry, currant, toast and cinnamon again. Long finish too. Very good wine.

Interesting blend of Corvina and Cabernet Franc. Tasty cranberry, plum and blueberry notes on the nose, with a hint of dried leaves. Medium+ acidity, medium tannin, medium alcohol. Tart fruit on the palate with a brush of graphite. I had this once before while camping in the freezing cold, and the only note I registered was 'liquid', so it was nice to really get a taste of a neat little wine.

Very strange wine. Lemons, gasoline, vanilla, caramel. Medium sherry flavors and a very long finish. Highly recommended for the sheer audacity of flavor.

Elegant. Rich strawberry over herbs and tobacco and very silky. Compared well with a Lopez de Herredia 2000 I had several nights ago.

dark plum fruits, a little tannic and young still. I would give this 'un time.

Lightly sweet, lightly bodied, pleasant and fruity through and through. I'm writing the note a while after I drank the wine, so I'm not prepared to go into specifics, but I do remember I liked it.

Medium gold color. Very interesting nose, classic 'Car mechanic' profile with the tires and the petrol, a little lemon lime, oatmeal and baked apple. The palate was dry and puckering with sour lime and green apple flavors. Very good food wine.

White gold color. The nose was dry and bright with acid, there was rubber tire and a little lemon and baking spices. The palate was a little richer and sweeter; apple and lemon notes mostly. Paired well with Thai curry.

Interesting wine. Lemon, apple, floral and honey on the nose with a whiff of cashew, the palate begins with a sweet note of baked apple pie in the company of brown sugar, but the acidity takes over on the transition and the finish ends up quite dry and cleansing. I was left with the impression of a lot of 'sweet' flavors on a wine that acted dry.

Nose of plum, cassis, pencil lead, wood smoke, cinnamon stick, vanilla beans, a little burn from the alcohol but otherwise creamy scent.

Palate primarily plum and cellar dust, tannins medium, lingering heat and little floral notes on the finish. slightly scratchy texture.

Second label for Methven Family Vineyards got a label re-design for the new vintage. Very rich nose of blackberry, licorice, orange peel, dried leaves and rose petal, juicy light body with fairly restrained acid and cranberry raspberry notes with a touch of earth. The finish is light and of fresh fruit. Very good value.

delicious strawberry note, mild bubbly is never harsh. One of the best picnic wines I've ever had.

I feel like I got punched in the mouth by a Fruits of the Forest berry pie. Intense concentration on the nose of cherry, blueberry, plum and blackberry. The palate is a little more refined, nice acidity holding the fruit together, soft texture. Not as complex as when I drank this in 2009 for thanksgiving, when a little caramel note stood out, but still plenty good; drank with lamb.

floral and white fruits, medium acid, a note of spice. I was in the middle of a frisbee tournament so I don't have a clearer memory, but it was quite refreshing wine to drink in the hot tub.

On the nose a creamy tropical fruit salad, pineapple, cantaloupe, whipped creme, floral tones and a savory cilantro spice,

on the palate, more creaminess, well balanced with acid, fairly dry, more fruit, a little banana, a hint of chives, and a long finish that had a whiff of green apple near the bottom of the glass.

I recently had a tasting of white burgundies at a range of price points, and this one would have fit in as a good value among them.

Nose of plum with coffee, cacao nibs and chocolate as it breaths more and more. Flavors continue on the palate in a pleasant rich way. Medium-full bodied wine with juicy tannic structure. Had it with pasta, sausage and red sauce, which was basically a perfect pairing.

Very nice sweet wine. Honey, floral, sweet fruits on the nose, somewhat creamy body and nice acidity balances the sugar for a mouthwatering effect. Drank about room temperature. Went very well with a salty Mediterranean spread.

Tried it the next day chilled, and it lost the creaminess of body, the richness of the nose, and the flavors got significantly greener, with a little sweaty sock in the garage note (and not in a good way). I put it back in the bottle and set it on the counter for tomorrow.

Very complex nose, somewhere between lemon curd, grapefruit and peach. faint limestone note to go with pleasing acid tint. On the palate, more citrus and a hint of basil, balanced oily texture with acid that held up all evening long and kept the wine vibrant even to the dregs, (when I was quite tipsy)

Excellent nose of juicy wild blueberry pie and cellar must. The juiciness continues on the palate, flavors of dark cherry and warm earth, the light side of medium body, alcohol and acid are in balance. Good to drink alone or with seafood or pasta dishes. I had it with bean soup; so basically alone.

Beautiful, silky body with the searing sweetness icewine brings. Lemon, honey, applesauce. paired very well with apple pie.

opened with a strong corked note, which was too bad, but it rounded out after a few hours open. Full, slightly loose body with very little acid. Subtle cantaloupe, melon and olive notes. Interesting stuff, I'm looking forward to trying again.
