slight orangey wine with nice floral nose, and pleasant balanced palate drinking more like a rose.

Quite tight at opening. Not as open as the Muschelkalk from the same vintage.

Quite lightweight for vin jaune. What it doesn't have in weight gains in finesse. Quite elegant and less in your face style vintage. I would drink this vintage earlier than others.... but who cares with vin jaune !

Poulsard socks juice smell. Nice, but not as great as other bottles. No uplifting fruity aromas that I find sometimes.

Good not great - at least compared to the regular Tavel cuvee.

Very nice place right now. Not much tertiary nite. Gamey and not poopy. High drinkability. I was afraid southern France and 2007 vintage could have been an issue. It was not. Very good

A bit green nose and Pinot like nose that makes you think of a stemmed great burgundy. Palate is a bit shallow with still tannins, not very fruity, and nice acidity. Seems to be in a middle phase, not closed but with definite upside. I would not revisit before another 5 years.

More vinegary than I remember from previous years. Still enjoyable if you can get past it or of you like kombucha.

Taste like fraise tagada. I guess it's citric acid ridden.

Showed the best on the third day. It's quite pompous and personally would like like more focus. Time might shed some of it.

Like this rendition which is richer than normally leaner versions. Goes well with food.

Not a big fan. It didn't evolve better over 2 years. I am not a big fan of the fruit profile which is not appealing to my taste - think more cheaper beaujolais. I really liked teh white orange wine from the producer though and the label is pretty nice.

Light, whole cluster, some animal notes nose. Great acidity giving a lift of the cherry notes with some spices. A bit short finish.

I liked the fact that it was not too citrusy but had some roundness. Went well with both oysters with red wine vinaigrette and duck rilletes : everything went well with this champagne!

Great acidity. Some citrus, and crunchiness, but not too much juice though. I would let it aside more. Very easy to drink.

More brambly and deeper red fruited tone that could be the lighter cuvee. Hints of smoke and herbs as well, reminding of the origin. Good. Wouldn't hold to it too much though.

Did I commit an infanticide ? Maybe but that tasted very good. Had with veal marsala saltimboca a la luppa. this pairing was a struggle for a while, and this is one of the best one. The tannins were good and soft and paired very well with the sage, onions and sauce. Made the wine very silky and good combination. Surprised I liked such a young Italian wine.

Although very good with Asian food - think thai curry - this was just OK with white asparagus done steamed and then sauteed with truffle butter.
It lacks some minerality and punch to make it a good pairing. OK it was.

On 10/13/2018, paired with uni pasta and black truffle, this was fantastic. There is a lot of minerality and some of the lemon added to the pasta goes went well with it. A bit more aged could have been perfect for the truffle but so hedonistic pairing I can't complain !

On 10/13/18, pairing with Beef tartare shiso leaves, quail egg with sesame oil and capers.
The shiso, herbs and sesame complimented well with the green aspect of this Rhys. Drank alongside the 2010, I preferred the 2011 which was more refined and had more lift.
