Tasting Notes for mprachar

I just opened my last (and oldest) Haley, and I couldn't be happier :)

It's a velvetbomb! All of the big tannins and rich character we get form this wine has mellowed into a great blend of the bold and the beautiful.

For reference, we opened an 07 from my same cellar, and the difference is pretty dramatic. This wine is turning a very interesting corner right now.

Still needs some time open - even 30 minutes helps tremendously. A little hot to start but smooths out nicely. Much better than my last bottle a year ago.

Definately a big, hot Zin. The first glass was a little overpowering so I decanted the remainder of the bottle. after almost two hours the complexity is starting to come through and show nicely. Quite the buzz after only two glasses...

Musty and Dank. The only JC Cellars I have not liked. I would suspect a bad bottle, but the others have not been very good either.

Drank immediately upon opening and was disappointed compared to my previous Pina experience. Definately needs some decanting time and/or more time in the bottle.
