Short answer - Amazing. Been holding onto this awhile to celebrate my sons 21st birthday (born in 2001) I could not get over the youth in this, fresh and good fruit balanced with great acidity. Hands down the best Barolo I've had (and better than the 1998 Mascarello had on my older sons 21st) so hard to find this near me - not sure it's imported in the same volume it has been in the past and the big uptick pricing reflects that. Definitely worth seeking out producer. Class in a glass.

Really like this wine. Love the flavor profile of Calistoga fruit. Happy I got this in the mid 30s - definitely overdelivers at this price point. (It is, technically, a "reserve") Have another I will let sit another year or so to see how it continues to develop.

What an incredible Rosso - hands down the best I've ever had. This beats many Brunellos I've had over the years and for less than 1/2 the price - grab as many as you can. . I cannot wait for the 2016 San Filippo Brunello(s) to be realeased as I can only imagine they will be stellar given the quality and depth of this Rosso.

Pear, honey and light acidity; not as viscous as other desert wines but in a good way. Everything integrated nicely. Really enjoyed this one.
