Lacked excitement until the very end of the bottle, showed many layers but ultimately died off fairly quickly.
I kept waiting for that "wow" moment but it never came.
My last glass displayed signs of future improvement but prior to that I was unimpressed.

Brought to Zachy's Auction and shared with table
What a pleasant surprise!
I had expected this wine to be further along in its decline but what I found was a wine still going strong.
A few still left in the cellar, will try again in a few months--drinkng well right now

P&p served with Chilean sea bass that tasted a lot like Patagonian toothfish... initial notes were cherry all the way. Then green pepper. on to the saloon; lots of leather and dark pipe tobacco. Very smoky. It's high noon somewhere. agree with the blackberry pie but not til late in the game.will revisit tomorrow

Dinner at Apiary--Sommelier double decanted wine and proceeded to pour back into the bottle, apparently not enough decanters.
The evolution of this wine was amazing!Complex notes of green pepper and fireplace before starting to close down leading way to an overwhelming nose of coffee bean.
I was very impressed with the silkiness/creaminess that the wine showed before and after the wine closed down, will try second half of the bottle tomorrow.
Learned a very important lesson----over agitation is great for immediate consumption but terrible for pumping and saving.
I completely destroyed any opportunity to further enjoy this wine, lesson learned!!
Will try again in a year

Brought to Thanksgiving dinner---Wine was unfortunately sucked down before being allowed any serious amount of time to open up. I was fairly unimpressed with this bottle although its possible that it was just too young.

Enjoyable but lacks the consistency and balance that I would expect from a wine in this price point

Very impressed with this wine!
Still very hot on the finish, not sure if the wine is somewhat unbalanced or just too young.
Either way great QPR

This bottle either should have been decanted or cellared for a few more years. Wine was incredibly tight and I had difficulty drawing any discernible flavors

Strong fruit on the nose, tannins still very prominent. I think this wine still has a long life ahead of it

Few tannins- Not getting a whole lot from this wine. I'm skeptical that this wine will ever develop into anything more than an overpriced good everyday bottle.
