Pretty lame for a barbera d'Asti. Very fruity with no structure.
Reminded me of KoolAid.

4/7/12, 8:43 PM - What an utterly ridiculous "score." Not liking something is one thing, but why torpedo the wine with a score like that?

Agree 100% with Gestalted. This wine disappointed me and makes me wonder about the magazine ratings once again. Nothing memorable. I am bringing my other two bottles down to the wine shop to sell. Don't expect much.

3/3/12, 4:09 PM - your review doesn't correlate with an "88 pts" score at all, just FYI

Why did I not listen to myself. Tasted last year and suggested to not retry for 3 years, what was I thinking? Very tight needs to open up, no particular nose. tart fruit forward with massive tannins. Should be great someday, I hope to still be alive.

3/2/12, 3:59 PM - I just want to say that I cracked up at the "I hope to still be alive" comment. Well done.

Lacking in interest. Smooth, bright red fruits and ample acidity. Rather modern and easy to drink. But nothing to really hold my interest. At $10 it was a fair buy, but I'd be pissed if I paid retail.

10/25/11, 6:28 PM - You sure you have the right wine? $10? I doubt that.

Not what I'm looking for in this style. Nose was agricultural, taste was medicinal, reminded me of stuff used to stop nail-biting. Very sharp, sour and dry. Perhaps this was just a bad bottle.
  • mguglielmo commented:

6/16/11, 6:14 PM - 70? really? sounds like a VERY bad bottle IMO

2007 Muxagat Vinhos Douro Branco White Blend
Clear, light pale golden. Straw and stones, honeyed apples. Medium bodied, minerals, apples, good mouthfeel austere finish. More minerals than crispness, good balance.

1/10/11, 6:08 AM - Whoops, wrong wine. This is a red, not a white.
