Opaque deep red/purple with slight brick red on the edges. Big big nose and palate. The wine should have several years of shelf life remaining.

One of the lighter Zinfandels. I was expecting a little more of the distinctive Amador flavor. Still very drinkable

Lost this bottle in the cellar a few years ago. The wine seemed to age gracefully. Lost a lot of the rhubarb bite. Tart enough to offset the sweet with some berry. Very drinkable for a fruit wine.

Drank early but needed to taste Oakville East's newest wine.
Double decanted for 2 hrs, Wonderful aroma of dark berries, earth and a little spice. Taste was muted compared to the aroma. Lots of dry tannins on the long finish of earth and some fruit. Compared to their Core Stone? maybe the fruit is not as sweet. A few years to let the tannins mellow would make a big difference.

I am not a Pinot Noir expert but this wine was very nice. A great fruity aroma filled the room as it was poured into the decanter. The Flavor was more fruit with a long finish. Our guest kept remarking "I can't believe I like a Pinot Noir".

This vintage had a more complex taste than the 03 and 07 Geyser Peak that were tasted at the same time. The fruit isn't as forward as the 07 and it has a longer finish.

Enjoyed this wine even though it was tasted against much more expensive wines. It had comparable aroma and taste with good tannins on the finish. Was a little lighter body then the expensive Napa Bordeaux blends it was compared against.
