I was lucky enough to share a bottle of 2001 Cheval Blanc over dinner with two good friends earlier this week. This one falls into the category of "simply extraordinary" and "why we drink wine". Bordeaux does not get much better than this. Drinking beautifully now and will only get better over the next 20 years

Served with foie gras and poached pears, a truly sublime experience. Simply extraordinary. The finish went on for what seemed like minutes. This was the epitome of matching food and wine

very enjoyable, nothing objectionable, pleasant, medium finish, good fruit, not a great value, at $100, not inclined to buy a case

Very disappointing, virtually no finish, lacks character, fruit is hardly evident, thin and weak, best I could say is that it is not objectionable
