Dark cherries, apricot, slight rubber, and a very intriguing note of cigar. Rich, intense, tannic, potential for more development.

Dark fruits, stone, iron, a hint of brett, and a touch of alcohol. Good, but perhaps a little anonymous.

Plums, dark cherries, apricot, smoke, a touch of alcohol. Still lots of fruit – many years left. Tasted alongside the 2010 Parussi and Margheria, this was my favorite with Margheria as a close second.

Lots of pure fruit; cherries, strawberries, blood orange, and rose hip. Violets, hard candy, tar, a fresh minty note, and clear oak influence that brings a slightly sweet sensation of vanilla and nougat. Tannic, but very fine silky tannins. Manages the 14.5% well. Definitely comes across as modern to me. Still quite young. Will probably take ages until this fully matures, but I don’t mind the youthful stage it is in now. Remember to decant at least a couple of hours ahead though.

Blackberries, grapefruit, violets, grilled meat, olives, leather. Pure fruit, high acidity, not so much tannins left. Drinking well and I can’t see how this will improve further. No rush though. Great stuff!

Rich tropical fruit, orange, ananas, burnt sugar, marzipan, aging cheese, pickles. Just about the right amount of sugar, alcohol is barely noticeable. Still youthful, but very drinkable on the fruit. From 375 ml bottle.

Lighter style, high acidity, low tannins. Lingonberries, cherries, sweet licorice, a touch of yoghurt. Still young, perhaps better in a year or two.

Compared to my note three months ago, my impression this time was leaning more towards earthy and meaty notes and less of the red spectrum fruit. There was also a slightly tart finish. Not as impressed as I was then, but still a very solid wine. Unsure if the differences were due to bottle-to-bottle variability or inter-occasion variability of the taster. Likely the latter.

Apples, passion fruit, honey, plants growing in a greenhouse, and a nice kind of smokey stoniness. Some development. A touch of sweetness, but perhaps lacking a bit of acid to balance it. Would have benefitted from more intensity and length.

Green apples, grapes, cucumber, stone, honey. Relatively cool impressions, with refreshing acid. This still shows some young features. Good now after a little air, but will probably continue to develop favorably for many years to come.

Lemon, lime, popsicle-like fruit, stone, a hint of coca cola spices. A minimal tendency of sweetness on the finish. Very good, but was hoping for more to be honest.

Ripe lemon, pineapple, passion fruit, cloudberry. Stone and smoke, almost cigar-like. Intense but not too heavy. Complex mix of fruity and smokey elements.

Good to go after an hour of air. Will keep well for many years. A solid Keller!

Dense and pure fruity notes, with ripe pineapple, banana liqueur, some stone. Very concentrated and long. This is not an elegant wine, but nevertheless so good with its rich almost tropical profile.

A bit like if Riesling and Port got married and had a child perhaps?

Forest notes, very pretty red fruit, blood orange, dried flowers. Low tannin, fresh, energetic. Uncomplicated without being simple.

Is that the kind of thing that you think you might be into? Yes!

Very deep convincing Cabernet nose, with things like black currant, green pepper, earth, and coffee. Although very concentrated and full of flavors, palate is not as good due to high levels of alcohol, which is actually quite disturbing. Partly mitigated by serving cool, and many hours of air. I remember this as more balanced 2.5 years ago.

A lot of what some people call ”minerality”. Almost like liquid stone. Green apples, nuts. Delayed onset of acidity. Some development. Not what I would pick to match seafood, but very good on its own.

The trick this evening was to keep it warm enough to let all flavors out, but cool enough to keep it distinct and refreshing. A balance act!

Abundant cool dark fruit, salmiac candy, stone. Any hard edges that may have been there once are now polished off. Very clean for a Clape. Super good!

Short decant. Dark fruit, licorice, leather, barnyard. Starts off relatively funky, cleaner with air. Good length! I am sure this will survive many more years of cellaring, but not sure it would improve.

Cherries, touch of mango, tea, earth. Fruit is extremely pretty on the nose but does not follow through on the palate, where it feels a little disjointed. For me, slightly behind the Tre Tine this year. Uncertain how it will, or will not, evolve from here on.

Wow, this is exceptionally good. The fruit is just so pure and fresh. There is almost a little tart note of grapefruit or lemon which makes it really interesting. Smoked meat and a well-balanced dose of oak, adding some toast and vanilla. Still tannins left, but at the same time so silky. Finish is looong.

Drinking very well at the moment after an hour of air. Depending on your taste, perhaps there is even further positive development to come.

I am impressed!

Red fruit, blood orange, hard candy, new oak. Tannic, some sweetness from the oak. Good, if you don’t mind the modern style. Recommend giving it a couple of hours of air. Now and for many years ahead.

What an amazing wine! Dusty earthy notes, leather, very clean fruit including cherry, orange, and peach. After two hours of air it opens up and feels balanced and integrated, and a slight trace of alcohol disappears. If I you prefer some tannins left, I would drink now, but with this much fruit there is still room for more development if that is what you prefer.

Ripe strawberries, cherries, flowers, tea, paint. A hint of something green which balances the fruity and sweet notes. Very fresh, but not much tannins. Slight heat actually (14%), but not a big issue. Very open for business after a couple of hours in the decanter. Drink or hold.

Black currant, blueberry ice cream, herbs, tomato leaves, organic notes of earth and truffle. Good acidity keeping things fresh. This would have been very difficult to pinpoint blind. But knowing what it is, you can identify both Cab and Tuscany components. Logical! It is not bad at all, but I sometimes find the Sammarco a bit too greenish for my liking.
