Outstanding wine with excellent balance and nice depth, rich body, long dry finish, very classy. In good shape now but no rush, still fresh, so should be interesting to check again in a year or so.

High acidity, still lots of grippy tannin, best with meals, burgers, etc. Great depth, good flavour. Unique, and probably has plenty of time left.

Very nice wine, lovely brunello character, medium bodied but very rich, bursting with flavour, and excellent persistence on the finish. Nice surprise really after seeing some other notes. This is in great shape now, but there's no rush I don't think.

Very good wine if you like Old School, wines that have grip and are maybe a little bitter, this also has nice body. At the price, an amazing value. Have this with Hearty food, beef stews, steaks, good burgers etc. Very good.

Good Wine, it is fresh, nice fruit, good balance with gentle tannin giving a nice finish, has the gravel / stone notes typical of Chinon. Medium body, nice example from the region, best with meals for sure, a bit sour edge on the finish not as prominent during meal.

At Restaurant Koefoed Copenhagen with tasting menu, duck, veal. Very interesting. Good nose, not much fruit, acidity high, a bit sour, but also earthy, tobacco, comes alive with the meat, had a nice softness. Still very much alive and a great experience.

Still a great wine at fair price a few years on. Full, rich, bd character, dense, can probably cellar for a few more years, but no need. Drinking really well now.

This is a beautiful wine! It's subtle, but has a lovely nose, gorgeous rich body in excellent balance, very pure subtle fruit and nice finish with no sweetness at all. A pure and gorgeous white wine, great on its own, but shines even more with meals.

This is an excellent Chianti! Rich, deep, full of flavour with a nice firm tannic bite still very present but in balance with the fruit so it's drinking smoothly. Great with steak and other rich food. Still very fresh, probably has at least five years left, but is gorgeous now.

Gorgeous wine at this point! Beautiful huge nose, great balance, still quite fresh, excellent long finish. Elegant superb premium wine for sure. (NB - previously tried this in June 2009 and wrote a note about how disappointing it was - totally different 6 years later!).

Quite traditional. Probably too soon to drink now. Very tight still, but great depth after some air.

Improved since Nov 2011 for sure. Nice gorgeous nose showing as typical Brunello. Great flavours, I would call it still a bit rustic, but in a nice way - just the right amount of grippy tannic finish, so, don't know if that will smooth out more with time, or if this is just how it is. Drinking really nicely now.

Very disappointing after hearing such good things. Could easily be mistaken for a very inexpensive over-sweet California blend. Soft and very smooth, but so OTT sweet that you can't really taste anything else. Had to leave it and open something else!

Gorgeous. Nice balance, not over-done. Subtle compared with some chardonnay which lets the fruit and the vineyard take their proper place. Compares well with better Burgundies IMO.

If you like this style, this is very good. Subtle, elegant, not a lot of body, but enough and a clean finish. Really nice Verdicchio.

Nice natural tasting regional red with gorgeous nose, rich flavour, classic Italian tight finish. Beautiful wine.

Rich and smooth, very pleasing nose and nice balance with lots of fruit, but not over done, smooth and nice slightly bitter grip on finish (in a good way). Much better than expected.

Very nice wine as are most from Malivoire. Decent value. Very aromatic, barely off dry, fruity, but nicely balanced (not syrupy), great with medium Indian curries today.

This has really come along since 2010. Very nice, much softer now, but still with some bite. Great depth and balance. Very nice. Not quite the polish of top chianti, but excellent.

Gorgeous wine. Still tight when first opened, so, decant, or, hold a few more years (2-5 I would say). It is all there, rich deep flavour, smooth with long finish. Super. A big step up from $20-$25 CC.

A really nice wine with good balance drinking well now. Dark, rich with good fruit / earthy balance. Soft, with just a little nice bite and good length on the finish. So good with roast beef. Ready to drink for sure which was surprising.

Great wine for fans of Italian wine with some bite. Nice full rich flavour without being sweet and soft. Has a rustic appeal. May be a little tannic if drinking without meal, but great for supper. Does need some air. Not a huge nose, but great depth of flavour and long finish. Really good and good value.

Decanted (showing some sediment) for a good 90 min. Beautiful dark rich colour and generous nose - really nice start. Taste was gorgeous as well - rich, smooth, quite dense and full bodied, well balanced with penetrating lingering finish. Good Bordeaux character showing in this wine. I actually preferred this to a bottle of the 2003 I had recently.

Really nice example of this style of wine. It is fresh with nice integrated fruit, not too sweet, good balance, nice finish. Great value mid week supper wine that delivers more than its price would suggest.

Absolutely great Chinon if Cab Franc with a nice tight finish and lots of juicy fruit (not sweet at all) is what you like. Very interesting stone-like flavours through the fruit. A nice change of pace from other reds, especially so-called new world, modern reds - this is not that! Great stuff.

November 2011: A little over-rated I think but very nice tasting. 3 hours decanted and still quite a tannic bite in the finish. Not much nose. Flavour really nice and clearly a Brunello, but this lacks the nice rich, lush, soft fullness and big nose of the beautiful ones that would score over 90. (eg. Fuligni 2003). If anyone knows whether this will improve with a few more years please say so (I have more :)).

I agree on the 90 points. Have had this for almost two years and in Feb 2011 it is about the same as it was in June 2009, maybe a little more subtle. Very fresh tasting. Deep gold colour and gorgeous generous flavours with beautiful finish. Really good. One more left for next year.

An unusual wine but in a good way; Not much on the nose and seemed tart at first, but with time and air some nice body and smooth depth develops and it tastes great. It has a satisfying tight "grippy" finish (but still not much nose). Definitely best if decanted for some time.
