This wine offers dark sugar, blackberry, black cherry, black licorice and multiple flowers on the nose. It offers a tight fine grain structure on the palate with firm acidity leaving a nice finish. This wine is still evolving but really has the pedigree to become something.

This wine smells like it has already aged for quite a while. On the nose offers dark chocolate, dark sugar, caramel, dried prunes, blackberry preserves, violets, caramel. It is also earthy and herbal and shows an oxidized smell, aldehydes, like sherry smell but not in an offensive way. On the palate it offers fine grain tannin and the finish is long. I might have gotten an off bottle but still drank decently.

Scents of green apple, pineapple and a hint of potpourri jump of the glass. Not overly complex but expressive on the nose. Gentle and crisp on the palate with a slightly tart finish. VERY GOOD.

This wine is expressive and very serious o the nose. It offers scents of exotic spices, dusty earth, underbrush, mushroom, dusty choocolate, coffe, strawberry, honey, beets and dry river rock. On the palate is elegantly structured but complex and is very well integrated. It is ageing very well. Drink now or hold for 1 year. OUTSTANDING.

This wine is very expressive on the nose. Several notes jump out the glass starting with red cherry, rhubarb, cranberry then shows some violets, lemon zest and dried dusty earth. On the palate is till very unbalanced showing a pungent acidity. Flavors are very good and the structure is nice. The finish is very acidic and makes you pucker. At this point the acidity takes over on the palate feel and does not let enjoy the other things this wine has. Decanting did not help .Open this bottle in a couple. Drink 2014-2018. (84+) it will improve.

This wine is drinking quite well and it seems to be peaking. It offers scents of pie crust, raspberry preserves, candied strawberries, melted brown sugar, rosemary, dried lime peel, hay, damp earth, underbrush and forest floor. On the palate it offers a medium bodied structure with little weight and a slightly bitter finish. It is pleasant but was a little better some time ago. Peaking, Drink Now.

This wine is ageing well and seems that will hold for an additional year or two but I do not see this improving over that time. Decanted for 30 minutes as it was slightly reduced upon opening. The aroma is incredibly intense and clean after decanting. It offers multiple scents starting with aged blackberry preserve, strawberry jam, raspberry syrup, cream, rose petals, cinnamon, dried orange peel, tobacco, cigar box and forest floor. On the palate it is gentle and elegant offering succulent flavors of black fruit preserves and tart dark cherries. It is well structured and impeccably balanced with a mouth watering finish. In a word EXCELLENT. Drink Now - 2014.

The wine is dark in color. The aroma shows hints of tamarind, blackberries, plums, raspberry preserves, black currant, cassis and dark mocha chocolate. On the palate is big and powerful with a beautiful tannin structure, acidity and astringency. The bitterness and the oak flavor overpower on the finish. The wine is very enjoyable and I see this wine improving for several years. EXCELLENT.

The nose is layered and complex showcasing notes of cream, blackberry, black cherry, plum, anise, mint, violets, dried rock and a hint of VA, which do not detracts from all the wonderful aromas. The palate is big, ripe, enjoyable and well balanced. the finish is very good and it feels that can age for a year or 2. VERY GOOD.

The wine shows a complex aroma of dark cherry, blackberry, anise, smoke and a diversity of minerals. On the palate is very enjoyable but felt as is not well put together or disjointed. There was no harmony and the finish was a little awkward. The wine has the potential to become a better example. VERY GOOD.

I had purchased 6 bottles of this wine and I opened 1 of these bottles and it was a mess of bacteriological problems with vinegar and brett, thinking that I probably aged it too long. Then I opened another one thinking I was going to end up dumping this and i was wrong. This wine shows hints of mixed red fruit preserves, spice box, cream, tobacco and damp earth. On the palate the integration and balance are amazing and the finish is incredible. This was my last bottle of the wine and only one was flawed. I would say everyone that has this bottle to drink it because it might be too late. In a word FANTASTIC.

This is one of the most beautiful Pinot Noir examples I have ever tried. It offers almost everything I ask for from this varietal. On the nose is extremely fragrant and intense showing scents of multiple spices, red fruits, black fruits, flowers and earthy tones. The clarity on the nose is magnificent and my smell sense was delighted. On the palate it shows pure fruit and spice flavors with an elegant but masculine tannin structure with massive fruit weight and wonderful fruit character. The finish is long and pronounced but slightly acidic. All factors are in balance except the acid. I would age this wine 3 to 15 years more for the acidity to become integrated and for the tannins to evolve even more. In a word MAGNIFICENT with potential to OUT OF THIS WORLD.

The wine reveals some nice scents starting with spearmint, red cherry, rose petals, lavender, dusty earth, slight barnyard and a masking scent of oak. After some swirls an intense aroma of anise and mint also show. On the palate is excellent structured with moderate acidity and multiple fruit flavors but slightly hot and short on the finish. The oak is a main component throughout the tasting experience and probably will integrate, but the barnyard worries me a little because I do not know if the Brett will eat the fruit before the oak integration. I would give this wine a year to age and then drink it. Overall is an excellent wine, I enjoyed it very much.

The wine is expressive and intense on the nose. Starts by showing spearmint, vanilla, cream, dark berries, flowers, sage, damp earth and dried orange peel. But after some swirls scents of red fruits and eucalyptus are also revealed. On the palate the wine feels a little big, little bitter and rough and also a little warm on the finish. The material is there and it is going to be great but is a little disjointed at this point, I would give it more time. But overall extremely enjoyable.

This wine shows a slight reduction upon opening. Decanted for 1 hour. The wine shows an incredible array of notes on the aroma starting with delightful and fragrant dark cherries, blackberries, an intense and expressive array of flowers, spearmint, mint, cloves, cinnamon, oak wood smoke, earth and a little graphite. On the palate is elegant on entry but grows incredibly to reveal a magnificent structure and complexity leaving a very long and extremely pleasant finish. This wine seems that will age for 10 years more. DELIGHTFUL.

This is a very classical pinot noir masked by massive oak. On the nose i could not smell anything else but notes coming from oak incuding coffee, dark chocolate and smoke. With some swirls and decanting time it did show more floral notes but did not open up very well to show more. On the palate i could really taste potential. It is a very good wine but for now just save it and visit it in 3 years until the oak has integrated.

This wine was excellent but it does need some integration. The oak was showing a little heavy on the nose with buttery, creamy and coffee notes that dissipated a little bit after some swirls to later show notes of blackberry, raspberry, cinnamon and cloves. It is a savory and ejoyable delight on the palate with a beautiful long finish. Give it 2 more years for integration.

The wine offers terroir driven characteristics and starts by showing earth, a whiff of barnyard, forest floor and hints of wet gravel. After some swrils red fruits also show with little spice. It was releasing some CO2smells as well, probalby is going thru a weird stage. On the palate was enjoyable and a tad bitter but did not bother me a lot. Makes me wonder if this wine will come together in time.

The wine shows a complex aroma of cinnamon, rose petals, strawberry, oak smoke, black licorice and cream. It is quite enjoyable to smell but not as effusive as the other high end offerings of White Rose. The palate feel falls into the elegant side but with incredible weight and somewhat intensity. The finish is very long and pleasant, a significance of longevity. This wine can age well and might even be way better. I will try another one in 2 years.

This is a blend of the best and favorite 2 barrels in the cellar of White Rose by a winemaker that I now consider one of my favorites and a fellow with incredible passion and talent who raised from vineyard worker to Winemaker in 6 years. This wine reflects his remarkable talent by blending 2 sub-AVAs of the willamette valley, which are the Dundee Hills and Chehalem Mountains, which are also my 2 favorite AVA. The wine delivers in spades on the nose and in the palate. The nose offers a multidimensional aroma of flowers (violet, lavender), baking spices (cinammon, clove), incense, underbrush, cola and dried orange peel, if you keep smelling you smell different things. It is exciting, lively and expressive on the nose. The palate is a little to intense right now with some rough tannins showing dark fruit and licorice flavors. It has the tannin structure, complexity, weight, intensity and clarity to become a great wine but needs time to soften a little. I Know that it needs time but I really enjoyed it now.

The aroma of this wine shows some black fruit dominated by plum and black cherry but also an intense cola and river rock aroma. The palate is full with structure and very pleasant but have a feeling that is shooting in different directions with makes it feel a bit awkward. This wine definitely needs time to put itself together and has the right stuff to do so. It is extremely enjoyable now but have the feeling that if I let it sit for a while it will be great.

This wine was fermented with 50% whole clusters and the fruit came from a block that was planted in 2001 at White Rose Vineyard. Since the vine is still young the stem component shows on the wine more clearly. The aroma is fairly dominated by grassy component and also some hay. After some swirls in the glass the wine evolves beautifully and offers a more complex aroma of cherry, strawberry, cinnamon, dried lemon peel, rose petals, violets and an appealing hint of minerality characterized as a pencil head aroma. It is very interesting and surprising to smell graphite in a Pinot Noir. The palate offers incredible and intense structure and complexity but the weight falls on the light but with excellent and pleasing finish. I am very sure that this wine will add weight in the future to even offer more pleasure. I'd give it 2 years to put itself together.

I am a sucker for whole cluster Pinot Noirs when they are done right, just like the best of Burgundy. This wine does not appeal to everyone when the wine is young but when is aged it offers fantastic secondary characteristics that can give you a true transcendent experience. This wine clearly demonstrates that Oregon is capable of producing world class wine in this category. This wine shows a complex aroma starting with some notes of grape stem but changing to the floral side with hints of rose and lavender. It also offers clove and cinnamon with mature strawberry and blueberry aromas lightly masked with an also intense anise note. Starts smelling in a bright and expressive way but after some swirls lights up and offers some earthy characteristics. On the palate the wine shows an intense, weighty tannin complexity (but more on the spicy side, this is not very fruity) with focused clarity. The structure feels incredibly integrated but again not in the fruity side and the length is long and expressive. This wine is really well made but also very young. I am extremely excited to taste this wine year after year. Start opening bottles in 2 years or so and drink them 10 years after that because this wine has the core elements to age for some time. 94+

Extremely spicy on the nose showing notes of clove and nutmeg. A whiff of barnyard also shows up mixed with some intense notes of blackberry, beets, plum, smoke and a little damp river rock. On the palate is very dry and has a very intense and full tannin structure but lacks fruit intensity. The tannin structure feels that comes mostly from oak. I am very sure that once the oak blends and fades on the wine's palate, it will be a great wine.

The wine was made from fruit from La Dolce Vita located in Northern Willamette Valley. The wine starts by showing a complex bouquet with notes of forest floor, damp earth, dried plums, dark cherry, raspberry and mocha chocolate dust. The nose later simplifies to licorice, rosemary, candied strawberry and a hint of mint. On the palate it shows intense black fruit, bright acidity and a tight tannin structure with a delicious mouth watering finish. Drink now through 2017.

This wine has been 4 years in bottle and still feels like a baby but it is joining all of its elements in an impressive way. On the nose it shows notes of mocha chocolate, damp earth, underbrush, tobacco, clove, nutmeg, red strawberry, cherry, cola, dusty white pepper and a hint of wet river stone. I has an incredible velvety and silky palate feel with a strong backbone supported by acidity and flavors of brown spices and minerals. All of the elements are coming into place but could easily support an additional 3 or 4 years of correct ageing. Extremely enjoyable now.

This wine is ageing extremely. On the nose it shows scents of flowers, plum, underbrush, cherry, dark raspberry, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon and a hint of illicit herbs. After some swirls and letting sit in the glass for a while notes of tobacco jump out the glass. It fills the palate with an elegant and polished tannin structure with a lively acidity leaving an extremely pleasant and long finish. This is without a doubt ageing well after 3.5 years in bottle since it was bottled starting 2008. I feel that this wine will age for another 3 to 4 years and I see it increasing the amount of weight, complexity and the finish but the structure is polished right now, so i do not see that increasing. This wine was just bottled in February 2011 and even though the winemaker advised me not to open a bottle until 6 months after the bottling date, I did open a bottle and I am glad I did. The wine starts by showing a very nice and bright herbaceous aroma with hints of grass cuttings and beetroot along with coffee, chocolate, red cherry, strawberry and clove. On the palate is light on entry but shows a very fruity and elegant tannin structure. The finish is slightly acidic and extremely fruity with flavors of red cherries. It is very enjoyable right now and I can see why the winemaker told me to age it only 3 years. The tannin structure is developing, softening and rounding quickly. It is delightful now and hope it can become better.

On the palate this wine is elegant with a good structure and all other components in good balance. This wine is good is good but I think I tasted it too young and feel that it can become great. The stem influence tells me that it will evolve into spice to make the bouquet more complex and also the tannin structure will increase in the palate. This wine definitely has the potential to be great. Drink 2013 - 2016.

After a few swirls scents of dark chocolate and forest floor also appear. On the palate, the structure is intense showing flavors of dark cherries and sweet toasted oak. The acidity is in balance and the finish is long. I feel the oak will dissipate and integrate with time in bottle but I am not sure the sweetness will ever disappear. The wine is reduced upon opening. I feel the reduction might come from oak influence and sur lie aging, because it is a very basic reduction that blows off with a few swirls. I decanted the wine for 30 minutes. The wine offers an array of scents starting with dark cherries, strawberry, mocha chocolate and coffee. It later evolves to incense, tobacco and a green component that might come from stems. In the palate it is very generous with a good intense structure, nice acidity and long finish. I tasted a heavy note of oak that does not let the wine speak its true fruit character very well and feel it would benefit from a minimum of 2 years in bottle with proper aging. Aside from that, it was a good tasting experience.

The wine is serious on the nose offering scents of coffee, chocolate, red cherry, rosemary and underbrush. The coffee scent is a primary layer making me think the oak toast has not integrated really well. On the palate, the wine is a little hot because the alcohol is a little out of balance, but it has some nice dark berry flavors and the finish is a little short. It is a good wine in general but i think it would benefit from some more integration in the bottle. Maybe another year.
