8/30/21, 8:07 PM - With proper aeration this wine really improves. Next day was outstanding Just opened another bottle a year later and it’s much more enjoyable today. Easy 90-91
7/19/21, 1:54 PM - Thank you. I did not know that.
6/9/21, 3:04 PM - Thanks!
12/18/20, 9:24 AM - No idea however I cant find it anywhere online less than $60. So for half price, and $6 shipping...I figured why not?
10/26/19, 10:37 AM - You may have had a bad bottle...this wine is very good. Certainly not a 95, but nowhere near an 82. Its 89-90 for its price point. Just surprised--as it was recommended to me by a reputable wine seller--and I found it to be really good for what it is...
10/24/19, 6:08 PM - 10/14/19 Update: Really beautiful. Rich and smooth. Easy drinking, cherry nose, red and black fruits, nice finish. Pairs well with food or is fine by itself. If you like Californian wines this is a good Italian wine to try...it will change your life and introduce you to a whole new Old World. :)
3/1/19, 10:19 AM - So I've finally come across a few additional bottles of the 2004 and have added them to the collection. Also added 2010...I will sit on these a little bit longer. I've been drinking and loving the 05's and hope they are just as good if not better. We will see...
2/18/19, 4:38 PM - February 2019 and it’s still awesome. ;)
10/27/18, 1:54 PM - Also, as expected tons of sediment. Use a strainer...
10/26/18, 10:52 AM - This is an incredible note--thanks. My fear of buying aged wine is the roulette of whether or not its gone bad. Also, the fear of decanting too long, and watching it fade. Do you have any rules of thumb that you follow? When purchasing? When opening? When serving? And how about where to buy such a wine? I've had cellar-aged Barbarescos and Barolos from 1998 and even 2001 that have turned. And the 1978 I bought was all vinegar. Appreciate any advice. Thanks...
10/26/18, 2:43 PM - Thank you so much for your insightful and generous reply! I will look at my Brunello connections in Italy and see what I might be able to purchase directly...I have had the same experience. Really appreciate the wisdom. And I will research that technique.
5/3/18, 10:50 AM - Haha. Nice catch! I meant 92. I did the review from my phone and lost the connection. Thanks for the reminder to go back and fix it!
11/15/16, 7:55 PM - Yes--you have! I figured not everyone would take the time to research the wines from the vineyard so posting it would give more info. I'd love to see a summary like this for all the wines in my collection. I haven't had the time to give a more detailed review, but it's a great wine...
11/14/17, 10:08 AM - Edited. Good point, I should have clearly stated from the Winemaker...
10/30/17, 8:14 PM - Had again in October, 2017, this is a very nice value wine. Solid 90. Keeps getting better.
1/24/17, 3:06 PM - I am going to reiterate my earlier love for this wine. This is a delicious Chianti. Great cherry flavor, nice dry finish, good long lingering aftertaste...very good with food. Bargain plus.
7/8/17, 10:39 PM - 3rd bottle, just as yummy. Maybe even getting better.
2/22/17, 2:08 PM - My second bottle is a different experience. Lending credence to the mantra, no good wines, only good bottles. This is dusty, flat...totally different. I will have to open another to compare. This has only decanted for an hour...but seems like its dying already, and past its prime. Bummer.
12/13/16, 1:42 PM - I tasted again, 6 months later. Yuk! The distinct flavor is heinous. I know everyone has a unique palette, but this was just not good at all for me. Perhaps this was from the same shipment that was stored under the carcass of a rotting water buffalo. Yoiks...so many other good wines to drink.
11/23/16, 6:11 PM - This second bottle was much better as I let it breathe longer this time. Very good wine.
11/4/16, 11:33 PM - I appreciate that insight. I have 3 more bottles and will hold for as long as I can--thanks.
10/28/16, 8:59 AM - I couldn't wait a year. Drank the next one. Same comments. 5 hours later it became wonderful. Was just in the mood for a beautiful bottle. Probably could have used another 2-5 years, but who has the time to wait that long for this to get that much better? Any thoughts? Am I nuts drinking my 08's and 10's now?
10/2/16, 3:38 PM - This is spectacular. A beautiful wine. A floral nose. Tart fruit, dry smooth finish. Balanced. Like it even more than the last bottle.
6/15/16, 8:58 AM - I decanted and let breathe for 4 hours...so my results may vary from some of the one below...
4/20/16, 8:44 PM - A few hours later, much better
1/27/16, 4:58 PM - Once this opened up after an hour, this wine transformed into a wonderful smooth and balanced wine. Will def buy more.
12/15/15, 5:04 PM - And as it sat over 2 hours it got even better.
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
