Huge aromas of ripe red cherries, raspberries, slight strawberry, rose and baking spice on the nose follows through with medium tannins, medium bodied Pinot noir.

Pretty decent wine for a regular grocery store wine. This Cab has light floral and dark berry notes with a strong vanilla note on the palette, which is my favorite. Light mouth-feel with a smooth finish that is pretty good for a 15ish dollar bottle of wine. Damn I miss drinking my brunellos!

Aromas of chocolate, dark berries and a hint of floral follow through to a full-bodied mouthfeel. It has very smooth tannins with wonderful richness and a vanilla taste. Lasts for a good amount of time on the palate.
The bottle was on the Wine Spectator 2009 Top 100 list as #35.

Pretty disappointing bottle, perhaps a little past its peak. Not nearly as powerful as the first time i had this wine with the Olivers, Lance Christensen, and the Castillons on our road trip to Salzburg, Austria to the Riedel glass factory. This wine was extremely powerful a few years ago but now is lacking in depth and only has a concise finish. Aromas of dark berries and cedar with a hint of dark chocolate on the palette. Slowly opening up now as it has been open for a couple of hours.

This is an amazing wine! Aromas of deep fruits and spice. A great Napa wine I've been waiting to drink. I honestly cant place all of the aromas yet, but it has a spectacular aroma...Extremely long finish that coats the palette with nice legs and great color. I'm ecstatic I still have one more to keep in the cellar to age for a few years.

pretty good wine fr a 90 rated wine, i would give it at least a 92 rating. Opened up with an intense oak aroma...plummy yet still good...almost like a very soft vintage port....has a nice finish as well...drank from a magnum(1.5 liter) with Joe Oliver.

This bottle didn't disappoint!! Amazing bottle, totally refined and well-balanced tannins. Aromas of blackberry and licorice with cedar and spice on the palette. I can't wait until this bottle gets a little more age to it and becomes even more balanced. Drank with Joe and Jabari.

Not a huge fan of the American owned Castello Banfi winery in Montalcino, Italy itself, but this wine was amazing tonight! Aromas of crushed berries and and hint of cinnamon, which is the first time I picked that up on the nose with this wine. The tannins coat ur entire mouth and last for minutes. Only one bottle left.

#5 on 2009 Top 100....always an excellent wine, still smooth with aromas of vanilla, berries, and a hint of black licorice. Has wonderfully refined tannins with a nice long finish. I still have a 3L bottle that I can't wait to drink!!

This is an outstanding wine....has a floral aroma with deep fruits and a hint of cedar. I prefer wines with a vanilla flavor and a long finish and this doesn't disappoint. It has chewy tannins that coats the palette and a long finish. I love this wine!

A very young port still, INTENSE aromas of plum and other dark fruit along with some black licorice. Sweet wine with hints of deep fruit and extremely smooth with a long finish. Will continue to describe as it decants throughout the night. So far a great first Vintage Port!!

Dried dark fruit on the nose, verging on date and prune. Full-bodied, with a dense palate of ripe fruit and supersilky tannins. This is a deep and beautiful red, delivering lots of subtle character. Fascinating.

Pure, rich and concentrated, this bold, graceful wine offers a deep core of earthy currant, blackberry and plum, with hints of herb, mocha and black licorice, giving it uncommon complexity and depth. Ends with firm tannins and a long, persistent finish. From WS

This changes all the time as you taste it, with aromas of dark fruit and porcini mushroom turning to cigar box and dried flowers. Full-bodied, with masses of fruit and chewy tannins. Really powerful and long. From WS.

Just like the 2001 last night, both Mastrojanni corks went bad but didnt damage the wine...thankfully....i guess I opened them at just the right time. Decanted for 6 hours so far, last bottle of Mastrojanni in my collection. My birthday bottle a day early.

Still an outstanding wine. Decanted for four hours, when first opened had aromas of toffee and plum. After decanting opened up with deep fruit and dark chocolate. Very smooth and still has a long finish. Will wait at least another year to open my last bottle.
