Spectacular. Raspberry and a bit of pleasant char on the nose. The wine actually had a bit of zing but very flavorful and smooth. Very fine sediment. I have three bottles remaining and will drink over the next year or two.

Just a classic cab at its beautiful end. Nose of pencil, faint iodine, char, a little dark fruit. Smooth taste, just light and effortless. Integrated fruit and tannins with a medium finish. I think these won't get any better. It was my last one and I have to say I'm sad about that.

I didn't take notes, so apologies. Great dark fruit with just enough structure to keep it from being jam. Really nice. Wish I had more.

This wine is definitely peaked. Stewed red fruits and pencil lead on the nose. Smooth with tannins resolved; a streak of cherry on the mid palette. Medium finish. I don't think it will improve.

Really nice. This was two days ago so apologize for not having better notes. The wine was really nice. Aromatic. Smooth. Finished with cocoa after an hour in the glass. Will take better notes next time.

I wish I had more. Cork slid out easily using an ah-so. I was a bit concerned although there was no depression showing under the capsule. Immediate smack in the face of crushed blueberries. Strained right into shiraz stems with no decant. Started a bit acidic and then had brushes of tar. Followed by tart cranberry combined with balsamic reduction. I hope this makes sense. Excellent finish. Really sorry to be out of these.

This might have been great once but my bottle was way past its prime. Faint whiff of brett. Fruit muted. Slightly sour edge. Drinkable but not great. Recommend drinking up.

Super wine. Smooth with incredible nose of dried dark and red fruit and spices. Velvety in the mouth. Dried fruit with perfect structure followed by spices. Clove was the most predominant to me, and not in a bad way at all. This is a good drop and I'm surprised there is not more of it in cellars. g. Cuneo is a Walla Walla gem.

Drank over two nights. Good, even great, but not outstanding. I wanted more based on the Reininger name. Pleasant nose of berry and a bit of charcoal that quickly disappeared. First night too tart. Second was a bit more integrated. Dark, pleasantly sour cherry. Medium finish. I probably should have held it another year or two.

Drank over two nights. Opened with immediate charcoal that was quickly eclipsed by black and blueberries with a little funk. Beautiful dark fruit and gentle sweet tannic structure with a long finish. This is a gorgeous wine with a long life ahead of it. We opened one to see how it was progressing and now will struggle to keeps our hands off the others.

Drank this over two nights. The first night it was a too tart. On the second night it really came together. Did not take detailed notes, but wanted to suggest letting this decant. Really improved with air.

Really nice. Popped and poured from a 375 purchased a few months ago from the winery. Pleasant notes of berry pie and slight charcoal. Follows with soft fruit and still grippy tannins. Long finish.

First opening was very fruity/jammy. Welch's grape jam. This blew off rather quickly. Smooth, integrated, balanced. Very good. Finish was not as long as I had hoped but still a great wine.

The cork came out easily. Poured through a strainer into the glass. Color of dried blood fading to a clear rim. Charcoal on the nose. At first it was like sulphur, but the good kind. Lit match. Then charcoal. And then a flip flop. Taste is bright and a bit sour....and then it went downhill. After an hour in the glass it was just old rubber. Too bad. In its day this was a great wine.

Quite good and in a nice drinking window. Berry nose. Kirsch up front, comfortable tannins, long finish with a bit of licorice. Nice drop that I would buy again.

Very different than the NV9 we tried last night. This one opened with sweet tannins, light red fruit and milk chocolate on the nose. A bit of gaminess showed up after a few hours and that tells me it may evolve the same as the NV9. Good structure surrounds a core of cherry and plum with perhaps a touch of cranberry. Some menthol on the long finish. It will be interesting to follow this over the next several years.

Purchased direct from winery after recently joining the mailing list. Signing up for the Cain Five allocation and I decided to give this a go. I didn't really take notes and this is from memory. PnP after two days rest from shipping. Nose of super dark fruit and bloody meat. Taste was a streak of tar with soft edges surrounded by fruit and a bit of game. Decent finish. I liked it. According to most it is past its prime so I wish I had tried it a few years ago. I have 5 left and look forward to drinking them over the next 12 to 18 months.

Good wine but maybe time to drink up. Tannins are gone and this is an alcoholic grape juice. Don't get me wrong, very enjoyable, just no structure to hold up the fruit. Not what I expected and maybe the bottle was off. I have three left so will see....

This was outstanding for a 10 year old bottle of Mondavi Vine Hill. I was really not expecting it to be this good. Sorry I did not take notes....just remember clean cherry fruit, leather, and a long finish. No heat at all but a little spice/structure...enough to keep it from being fat. Wish I had more.

Cork broke. Lots of sediment (plus a little cork) Screened and let air for 30 minutes or so. Fruit is soft but no backbone or acidity at all. There was a funky overtone. Wine was still good, but glad I drank it now. Will take notes on soon on one of my other bottles to see if this was an anomaly.

Curious wine. Night one was just ok. Good nose of berry and wood. Taste was sharp/hot and that hid the fruit. Just got heat and tannins. I could tell there was something underneath however, just out of my perception, and I drank two glasses looking for it. Let the remaining half bottle sit on the counter for two days. Spectacular difference. Integrated, soft, and loads of structured fruit. Not sure how to rate this so opted to just write the note.

This was my last bottle and luckily for me, it was still ok. 3 out of my 6 were cooked. This one was a little sharp, but still enjoyable. Bright fruit with a little funk. Medium finish. If you have this, drink it. All of mine were stored properly since purchase in 2006.

I think this wine is done. I drank this over two nights. Sour and thin the first. Much better the second and better with food. There is zero upside to holding it. By the way, properly cellared since purchase in 2007. I can't vouch for before that.

My previous two had been corked. This one was edgy. Good nose of cherry and a little funk. The funk was telling. Taste was fruit with a tar beam that was just shy of not being ok. I think another month and this one would have been gone. It was excellent when paired with the grass fed filet we had for dinner. Average on its own. Drink up while you still have the chance.

Something amiss with this bottle. It's been properly stored since purchase in 2007. Cork came out fine. Nose beautiful with raspberry and briar. Taste was off. Thin and watery with a slightly sharp finish. Improved slightly the second night but needed food to be good. Better with cashews of all things...

This was a very pleasant surprise. I opened a bottle last year and the wine was awkward and too tight. Was not expecting much. Wow. This is in a great spot. Round in the mouth, cherry, raspberry, a little cocoa dust, and spice. Great structure and long finish. This can go at least another year but is really good now.

Drank last night. Initial nose of pencil lead giving away to red fruit. Consistent with my earlier note, this still seems very light to me - not in taste or structure (it has plenty of both) but in overall feel. Almost a weightless wine. Tannins are there but not too grippy. Sweetness to it. As the evening wore, plums with a tar-ish note started appearing. Started better than it finished over the course of the evening. I'll wait another year or two before opening another.

Better than I expected. Drank over the weekend, so just getting to the notes now. Light red fruit with an overtone of burnt sugar - but it wasn't overly sweet. Reminded me of that bite of creme brulee top with a raspberry. Pretty good!

Blackberry and blueberry jam on opening. Too much fruit at first - no structure. After an hour, it calmed down a bit on the jam side, but never got complex enough for me.
