this had a little heat but is mature and very tasty/. will not keep my last bottle much longer
White
this was great last night. great balance between acidity and fruit. don't see an upside to waiting - drink

White - Off-dry
PNP. cork perfect. color light straw. this was a little sharp when first opened and improved with air. even still remains more tart than sweet.

This is completely oxidized. blind would guess sherry. if you like sherry it is tolerable. the cork was leaky and the fill comprmised so seems like a leaky cork spoiled this. hoping that remaining bottle is better.
Red
never had straight mondeuse before. cork perfect. color is dark. this is reminiscent of cru beaujolais. shortish finish with solid dark fruit front end.
better the second night. would decant next time if drinking near term.
Rosé
UNP. color is pinkish salmon. nose has watermelon strawbrry jolly rancher. swishing this shows mostly acid structure with a little skin stem tannin bringing up the rear. med length finish. the acidity made it great with tomato burrata and basil. good balance and good price point.
Rosé
PNP. cork perfect. color salmon. nose orange-ish and light cinnamon note. swishing shows mostly creamy acidity with a hint of soft tannin at the end. finish super clean and lingering.
serve this at cellar temperature like a red wine.....chilling mutes the flavors
Red
PNP. cork wet 1/3rd way up but intact. color bricking. nose has a whiff of reduction and some stewed veggies/earth. swishing shows mostly acid structure with juicy fruit and fine grained tannins sneaking in the back. finish is lengthy and fruit/acid driven. siping shws bright strawberry type fruit which is the ony hint to me that this is austrian or german. i likey. i wouldn't wait too long to drink this
Red
Got to try this after it had been opened the night before. small taste but enough to tell that this is really special. it has a levity that beguiles. thanks for sharing JP!

White - Sparkling
Delicious stuff.
i was expecting something a little more lean but this has great fruit density and flavor. a definite repurchase for me
White
UNP. color straw. a bit bracing so splash decanted. nose swishing shows great creamy acidity that goes just a little terse on the finish. this is fruit laden and kinda rich. finish lasts a while. great value
White
this seemed over the top this time. last time was with lobster. dense and intense but needs a sturdy dish to support
White - Off-dry
guess i forgot my last note. PNP. cork wet to top and a little moldy. color light straw. nose has some matchstick and citrus peel. great acidity and still showing some residual sugar. well balanced. if i had more would wait for 5 more yrs for complete resolution. good stuff

Red
PNP. cork intact. color is ruby. nose has earthy cherry bright red fruits. swishing this shows serious acid and some tannin structure. on the palate this is super polished. this is a wine of delicacy for sure. i think that it will age well but will always be a delicate flower
Red
1987 Château Meyney St. Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
PNP. cork intact but wet 1/3rd way up. color dark crimson with hints of bricking. nose has some green, pencil shavings, and black plum. swishing shows dense tannin still, but it is integrating and not too rough. i am amazed by how youthful this is for a 32 yr old wine. this is not even close to decline w plenty left in the tank. will never be a showstopper but tonight with grilled lamb chops was really tasty. improved with air.
White
This is drinking well. starting to show a little age so will drink remaining bottles soon
White - Off-dry
this is darn good. plenty of life ahead but super tasty now
White
PNP. cork intact. color straw. nose has a little bandaid aroma in the white fruit. swishing shows great acidity and the very small amt of residual sugar keeps this smooth and finish med length. not appreciably sweet tho. i really like this style and one of my favorite domestic rieslings
White
new wine for me and evidently to everyone else because it wasn't in the database. Brief note. PNP. color light straw. this has a chalkiness and stern acidity, but the fruit totally balances this. didn't recognize the varietal, and it has a salinity that i think would work well with shellfish. lengthy pleasing finish. one of the most interesting wines i have tasted in awhile. has none of the oxidation that i was expecting.
Red
Cork wet to top but fill was fine. dark color with some signs of age on edges. this was beautiful, with plenty of fruit with notes of citrus and maybe some menthol/mint. long finish. has more in the tank but very good now.
White
this is bright and brisk with acidity. there is a noticeable dose of oak. agree that this is on the chablis side of minerality. i would like to try this again in a few years.

2003 Domaine Arlaud Clos St. Denis Clos St. Denis Grand Cru Pinot Noir (view label images)
This had some stiff competition at the table, but i thought was very flattering with our simple standing rib roast. polished and still has fruit, but the alcohol peeks out here and there keeping it from being special. still, given the vintage i thought showing quite well.

This was great. bright fruit with tthat hint of oxidative style in the back all wound together by creamy acidity. really fun
Red
PNP. cork perfect. color dark garnet with bricking eges. nse has plum and cedar. swishing shows residual tannin that are stern. sipping shows good integration. fruit holding but tannin will outlive
Red
pnp. cork perfect. based n past experience i passed this thru the vinturi twice. color purplish garnet. nose has dusty dark fruit that includes cherry and some pomegranate. acid spine, skin stem tannin on back end. this was great tonight with duck breast with cherry port sauce.
if serving near term this needs a ton of air....decant well ahead of service

this was corked. in reviewing my last note the last bottle probably was too.
White
PNP. cork perfect. color light straw. nose has yellow fruit and some mint. swishing shows pretty significant acidity with a saline back end and a finish that lingers. sipping shows god balance between fruit and structure. really hlding up nicely and showing no signs of age. Terlan knows white varietals....

Red
PNP. cork perfect. color ruby. nose i get a little smoke and cherry. swishing shows acid and tannin structure, and the tannin is a little grippy. cherry fruit is the dominant flavor, which is slippery and balances the structure. the best passetoutgrain i have tried.
Red
Brief note. we drank this with braised oxtail and it was really very good. there is still some structure there but most has integrated and there is ample fruit in support. this has really come along nicely.
Red
PNP. Cork perfect. This has turned the corner since last time I tasted. becoming secondary and has mellowed on the structure front. i think that this is in the zone and will drink remaining bottles from this vintage near term. really delicious

Red
PNP. cork on this was wet 15% up. color dark. nose shows significant reduction that improved with decant but did not completely go away. was mistaken for a syrah on nose. this has plenty of fruit and balancing structure and with reduction i think will hang on a long time.
Red
Restaurant purchase. This was fruit forward but had just the right structure to keep it balanced. structure was split btween tannin and acid. nice finish. ready to go but will benefit from a splash decant i think as it improved with air.

Red
PNP. cork perfect. color crimson. my nose is a ittle off tonight. swishing shows completely integrated structure with polish and just a hint of stem tannin on finish. sipping shows full on fruit and glossy body with some weight. this has really improved in bottle - ready t go and i doubt there is anywhere to go but down from here.
Red
PNP. cork wet 3/4 way up but intact. color ruby with bricking edges. nose super earthy with some iron cranberry cherry in back. swishing shows terse acidity and still some fine grained tannin bringing up the rear. finish shows some skin/stem flavor. still has very good length on the finish. sipping shows good balance and there is plenty of fruit although this is becoming secondary. in a great place to drink - i suppose it might soften further but glad i drank it tonight.
Red
PNP. blind would have guessed this to be zinfandel. not my style. that said for zin it is pretty good.

don't let the wax impress you....
White
PNP. cork wet 1/4th way up. color gold. nose apricots with lemon background. swishing shows same on the palate with a green herb that i can't place. structure is all acid that coats the cheeks and gums but isn't astringent. finish med length and acid leaves it feeling a little clipped. unlike my last bottle that i got on release, this bottle was more recently acquired and it seems prematurely oxidized. will drink remaining bottles from this source soon. would recommend that you check in on this if you have it.

there is noticeable brett here. cork perfect. color c/w age. flavors work and good balance between fruit and structure, but this is on the richer side of bojo. was great accompaniment to beef tartare

White
PNP. cork soft but intact. color straw. swishing shows chablis like chalky structure. sipping shows the fruit, which is far ffrom fat, but definitely fuller bodied that the swish suggests. in all this is very well balanced and lengthy finish. definitely worth the price of admission
Red
last bottle. cork wet prt way up but intact...really soft tho. color showing the age here. on palate this is totally resolved and to me tastes like older burg. more old world than new world. still has fruit on the palate, and the structure is completely integrated. like the previous bottle this has definitely peaked....would drink it if you have some left.
too bad these guys aren't still around - this was a treat.
Red
PNP. cork perfect. color dark ruby. nose on this is dense.....cherry fruit and sap with a reductive note. swishing this shows mostly acid structure still with light tannins. Time has been kind to this - tonight not nearly as screechy as before. tonight sipping shows lighter body displaying the cherry pomegranate fruit with great balance and shortish finish. reminiscent still of a beaujolais. still softens with air so would decant now. this is really good marsannay
Red
brief note. this is pretty good stuff. has the earth and spice that blind would have made me think germany or austria. enjoyed this a lot and makes me want to visit the winery.
White
PNP. cork perfect. color straw. nose has minerals and apples. swishing shows acid acid acid, with citrus influence. sipping shows balance between fruit and structure. this is really great wine and a great alternative to chardonnay
Red
served with koji shortribs. looking for something to compliment the asian spice and this delivered. a little high on the alcohol side but the tannins worked with the fat and the spiciness with the seasoning. this is a big boned wine best accompanied by a big boned dish
White
PNP. cork wet 1/3rd way up. color straw. nose has apricot and ginger. swishing shows great acidity that propels the fruit laden finish. a hint of residual sugar keeps the creamy acidity in balance. sipping shows perfect harmony among all the components and keeps this light and airy. med long finish. lauer has the formula. youthful and plenty of time ahead i think.
wish i had more.
Red
PNP. last glass left in bottle from last night (wife opened this by mistake - ouch). color garnet with slightly purple edges. nose has dark cherry fruit, violet, orange peel, some spices including pepper, and maybe a hint of coconut? swishing this shows dense tannin structure and acid is back seat to that. tannin isn't rough just prominent. sipping allows fruit to tamp down the tannin and leaves a lengthy impression on the palate.

infanticide was committed last night.
if you decide to go that route it definitely benefits from air.
according to CC this is much more revealing than last night.
this is gonna be great with time.

Brief note. Another CC Bday wine.cork perfect. color showing age. This is in fine shape and holding up nicely. Great weight, structure almost fully integrated.
Red
PNP. cork wet 3/4 up but intact. color dark ruby with lots of bricking. nose is mostly secondary w resinous cherry. swishing shows mostly tannin structure, some acid. med length finish. sipping shows enough guts to balance the remaining tannin. i actually think that this has a lot left in the tank. if i had more would hold at least 3-5 or maybe longer.
White - Off-dry
this had a leaky cork, but the wine was sound. this has great balance between fruit and acid, but leans to RS still. i think that this will be even better in 5-10 yrs. too bad i dont have more to find out. really very good
