Medium-full bodied, balanced tannins and acidity. Dark fruit - plums, blackberries, with aromas of licorice, grilled meat and earth. Drank well over a few days - likely to hold well for a few more years.

Straw colored, full bodied, low-medium acidity, tastes a little off dry. Baked apple, pear, blanched almonds, floral, and a little bitter on the finish to keep it interesting. Brilliant with a crab & Alfredo pizza, decent with pork tenderloin on the second night. Could probably hold a couple more years, but in a good place now.

Darker garnet color, fruit forward, dry, smooth tannins, moderate acidity. Black cherry, cola, vanilla and a bit of cedar. Probably nearing the end of its life before it starts fading. Decent value.

Quite interesting. Drank over two days. Balanced with medium body, acidity and tannins. Fruits lean to cranberry and sour cherry; comes across as quite tart. A hit of barnyard funk that faded on day 2. Herbal notes and some tar. If not for the tart fruit profile, I would rate this higher.

Medium-full body, tastes a little off dry, medium-low acidity. Tropical and orchard fruits- lychee, apricot, mango. Wet river stones. A bit more acidity would help balance it out, but overall quite nice and a good value.

Gold, dry, medium bodied, medium-high acidity, flavor of baked apples, hazelnut, spice, honey, and a granite minerality on the finish. Lots of depth, and for the price tough to beat. I would drink up if I were holding a few bottles.

This is the third bottle I’ve had in the past four months. They were each quite different - same vintage so it’s a lot of bottle variation. One was mostly dark fruit (prune, plum, raisin) with little of the tertiary aromas you expect at this age. Perhaps overheated at some point. The last was somewhere between the other two. Such things happen when a wine gets old and none were “bad”. It’s still a great opportunity to try something older at an affordable price.
