Dit is heel lekker, redelijk vol, redelijk complex.

mooi klein beetje hout. Beter dan dezelfde zonder hout: la Caprisiosa. Goed prijs kwaliteit.

Veel karakter, bittertje, nog niet helemaal rijp (nou ja: op dronk)? Hier houdt ik van. Nog een jaartje liggen?

Nice character. I would leave it a year to get rid of some edges I am not fond of.

Last bottle. What a great wine. And then I learned just before the last bit of the bottle that Eloi Dürrbach passed away recently. I learned from Eric Sauter how Eloi Dürrbach started the Domaine in the 70's. You can find the story on the internet. I attended a vertical tasting - in 1994, with the wines from 1983 to 1993- in the Amstel Hotel in A'dam organised by Sauter and Eloï Durbach was present,. He had no problem admitting 1984 and 1987 were not great because of too much rain. I have had all the wines from 1993 to 2010 in my cellar; a total of 67 bottle remaining, including 2 bottles of the great 1995. Not true actually, because 2003 has not been released because the year did not live up to Eloï Dürbach's standards.

Compared with Zilliken Rausch Kabinett 2011. More body, melon. Seems complexer, but I like the clean, crisp, mineral Zilliken better.

Compared with Weiser- Künstler Ellergrub Kabinett 2011. Cleaner, crisper, more mineral. To my taste better, but that is me.

drank over 4 days. Almost black, not very much nose, integrated tannines, but very young. Not much development over 4 days (under cork). So, next bottle in 5 years.

2003 is a difficult year. This wine was very disappointing in 2010. I left the rest of my 12 bottles. And now 10 years later it is not bad at all. Fruit remains, tannins are integrated. It is not very complex, but agreeable. I am drinking it with fumed ale -gerookte paling- and it does very surprisingly well together!

Too young, rather flat, but a day after opening and under the cork much better and deeper. Next bottle wait 2 years.

This is really remarkable. I sometimes keep a bottle out of 12 of a well made simple wine to age. This Château de Maurel is from 2005, a fine year. In 2009, 2010 it was a very nice, fruity wine. I thought that it might mature further. And now the fruit is still there. Many a Bordeaux of standing may have a difficult time to compete!

Caraffed. Beautiful nebbiolo nose, tannines a bit green. After 1 day in the glass (!) or decanter smooth, complex, tannines entirely integrated. I love it, but if you want a bit of tanninic bite, this would be too much.

Decanted, because tannines are slightly green. Beautiful nose, blackberries. After one hour integrated tannines. Beautiful full fruit and complex. Next day not improved. Needs more time. Next better not before 2022.

This is great, complex already. I Cite: Verb: 20/5/2020: "dark red, ruby rim - red fruit nose (cherry, cranberry) with aromatics of spice, leather and earth - round full mouth of red fruit and spice - good acidity, resolved tannins - long 20-30 sec finish - tasted alongside the 2010, this wine has a better structure and balance to last another 10 years easily, hopefully with even more development of complex aromas and flavors."
I add: Tinge of bitterness at the end.

Great, typical Pinot Noire nose, astringent -not entirely intergated tannines, gives it a good bite. Complex, lovely wine at its best for my taste.
