Deep clear ruby
Fresh dark berry aromas
Juicy dense fresh berry, fairly tannic, great juicy acidity.
Quite fresh and delicious with plenty of stamina to last.

Light clear garnet
Fairly thin powdery feel like unsweetened cherry sweet tarts
Decent balanced acidity does not prevent this from becoming tiresome.

I’d serve ice cold

Impressive stuff
White grape aromas.
Dense mouthfilling feel,
Some dry pear, mint and a hint of brine.
Great balanced acidity
Good stuff

From an odd 500mL imperial pint bottling

Initial pour clear, but a moderate amount of murky sediment at the bottom
This definitely had a good share of medicinal funk which actually cleared over the course of 90 minutes.
If opening a bottle, I’d definitely decant and generously aerate.
Best showing yet with some clear maturing CdP high points, but still have some caution, as this definitely has some funk and requires a pinch of ambitious optimism to truly enjoy.

Light clear ruby
Light raspberry and tea notes; this is finally moving past its initial gushing fruit stage and a bit more interesting. This remains absolutely delicious and a lovely wine.

Clear garnet
Still with a tannic bent, but starting to resolve
Tart earthy cranberry flavors
Dry finish
Fruit/Vegetable Wine
A rather creamy milky makgeoli colored with red rice yeast. Some red berry flavors, raspberry with a hint of cinnamon and coconut.
Worth a try if you are looking for makgeoli

Clear ruby
Quite tart with an odd sauerkraut nose at first which thankfully blew off leaving bright cherry fruit.
Much further along than in 2021, but clearly needing more time.
Opens up with an hour

Purchased and cellared on release.
Dried cork which crumbled on opening.
Clear garnet, with rather funky barnyard which blew off somewhat with air
Completely resolved, but just so, I think most readers may have drunk this early (last CT note 2014). Tart and lively, but not likely to develop further, I’d drink up. I’m afraid this will soon dry up.

Actually with an hour of air this opens up magnificently
This is why we age wine

Excellent Bourgogne.
Light straw yellow
Bright tart pithy lemony fruit.
Grippy finish. Nice stuff and very good at this level

Fairly deep ruby purple, just a hint trouble. I don’t appreciate all the funk described in notes from a year ago.
Bright tart, almost candied cherry flavor
A very tasty Beaujolais but almost bordering on heavy; I would serve this cool.
An easy go to red in this range

Clear ruby garnet
Some VA and tart vinegary funk which blew off leaving earthy dried strawberry aromas
Rather savoury earthy tart watermelon flavors with some sweetness that pokes through with time.
This is really quite lovely and totally approachable now with. 30-60 minute decant. I rather like this.

Deep rich gold
On initial blind taste I thought this was a rich old Savennieres
Bruised apple nose
Rich full bitter pear flavors. Quite an unexpected surprise from this Villages Meursault. Absolutely lovely tonight. Purchased and cellared on release.
Sake
From 720 labeled 22.04.E

Light golden straw colored
Very earthy mushroom nose
Quite soft and honeyed (but dry) on the palate with more earthy grain flavors, perhaps even tumeric, super rich feel, and just a bit of funk.
This is really quite lovely.

Fantastic Chablis
Quite young and rather tight on opening.
This does open up quite well, mineral briny, but tons of fruit. I’d hold or vigorously decant.
Lovely.

Rather understated, served blind this seemed quite lean at first look, but fleshes out considerably with 30 minutes of air.
I’d consider a decant if opening one now. Rather mineral, saline driven with lemon pith and rind.

Deep clear ruby
Dark raspberry nose
Soft raspberry palate with some late tannins,
plenty of flavor to balance the 14.7% alcohol.
Plenty gentle enough to go with tomato based seafood. This is quite lovely and easy to enjoy

Not quite crystalline clear garnet.
Big styled Martinelli zin, gushing with sweet fruit and a slightly licorice finish. High alcohol that doesn’t get lost despite the big fruit. Impressive, and delicious if you like the big style.

Clear garnet to rim, some sediment
Tart cherry nose
Soft ripe tart red currant fruit.
This is in a very nice place right now (and not seeming in immediate danger of falling apart)

With 90 minutes of air this opens up beautifully.
Sweet fruit and a touch of (mostly) resolved tannins

Big bright tasty pinot.
Quite ripe and a tad alcoholic at 14.5% with heat showing through, but really quite tasty. Tons of ripe dried strawberry fruit with earthy cola undertones.
Quite nice if you like the style, but clearly big and the heat cuts through. 92+

Some light buttered hazelnut and golden delicious aromas and tart flavors. Even from 375, this could use a bit more time to settle down, but quite tasty and plenty going on, especially at this level. Nice

Deep ruby purple, not quite opaque
Ripe black currant nose extending to palate.
Dry but nice ripe dark berry fruit.
A bit simple and short, but a very good cabernet value at $10 and serious enough to compete with simple Bordeaux at a similar price point. I rather like this at this level.

I think this needs time to settle down, though I think this may always be on the blowsy side.

Pungent nose, incredibly floral, violets thick black walnut, a hint of iodine, then iron.
Mouthwatering and amazing how much fruit is present, pure black currant with an iron component Beautifully balanced acidity, significantly resolved, but still with a core of tannin in the background.
Stunning and timeless; this will outlive all of us.
Constantly changing over the course of two hours, next tart dark cherry and after 2.5 hours, it almost took on some rich Napa like characteristics (in a good way). While as intellectually challenging a wine as one could imagine, this wine is delicious and could be served to anyone with great enjoyment.

A huge California Bruiser,
Not the most balanced wine
But plenty of stuffing
And completely alive at 43 years old

Gold with a bit of gas collecting on the bottom of the glass
Light oxidized apple nose
A touch of prickly gas as well as oxidation on the palate, but great cool acidity keeps this fresh with some Fino notes. Bone dry.
Not overly “natural” this is quite lovely and begs to be drunk, but that said, might be a bit polarizing.
90+(?)

Very savoury and bright fruited zin. Classy without being over ripe, yet plenty of fruit to keep the 14.7% from creeping in too much.
Brief light finish

Quite easy to like.
While not totally resolved, this is drinking quite well, and the tannins are rather fine in the finish.
There is a bit of heat that pokes through so I’d prefer to drink this sooner rather than later as the flavors are so pretty

Huge ripe unapologetic zin from Martinelli
Brash 17.2% sweet, over ripe and wonderful.
Clearly not for everyone, but incredibly fruit forward and ripe at 22 years old like a semi dry port.
Lovely (if you like the style…)
