Quite good. Berries, cedar, mild tannins. Great with herbed Greek salad.

Nice fruity front end with raspberry, cherry, and cranberry all working together. Midpalate is a bit hollow, then there's a nice, peppery back end and a long finish. Full bodied with solid tannins. Enjoyable.

A great Syrah. Probably at its peak. Savory but still with lots of black fruit. Soft and a bit delicate. Lengthy finish.
Red
Nicely layered with red and black fruit, tannins, oak, leather, and hints of tobacco and spice. Lengthy finish. Probably needs another year before it will really start to shine.

Decent, but for some reason it didn’t come together quite as well as it did in the tasting room.

Similar notes to last time. Fuller and rounder with a day of air. Good length.

On the verge of greatness with a solid cherry core complimented by earth, acid, and a bit of minerality. Pleasant and long finish. Body is a bit thin, but otherwise very good.

Aromas of blackberry, plum, smoke, and cedar. Similar flavors with mouth coating viscosity and lengthy tannins. Long finish. Really well developed. Yum.

Similar notes to last time. Couldn’t quite hold its own against a garlicky pasta, but it came close. Decent acid, nice red fruit (raspberry) flavor with some mocha notes. Good tannins.

Still pretty rough around the edges, but definitely a great core. Big and dark fruited with some earth, forest floor, smoke. Ample tannins. Long finish. Despite what people have been saying for the past few years, it probably still needs a year or two to really shine.

Really a strong but delicate style of Gamay. It sits light on the palate but hits you with a solid backbone. Good red cherry and pie cherry flavors with some black olive and earth notes. Packs more punch than I was expecting.

Mostly agree with La Cave’s tasting notes. This is a nuanced, mostly well balanced wine. With a couple years on from that note, the oak has started to assert itself a bit and push the scale to one side. Still quite good and very enjoyable, especially on day two. The drinking window (18-22) seems about right to me, although I wouldn’t be surprised if this was still drinking well in 6 years.

Brambly and pretty one dimensional with fruit, fruit, and more fruit. Decent body, barely detectable tannins and a really short finish. Better with food than without.

Fruit forward, and I didn’t pick up much else besides oak and tannins. Decently put together for what it is. Fun to taste.

It did not blow my fuckin’ mind.

Good dark fruit, black tea, oak character. Moderate to strong tannins. Big body. Decent finish.

It was an 87 last time. Today, it picks up an extra point by being served well chilled. I gotta be honest, I’m not sure that’s a good thing. Still great raspberry flavor.

Right on the pop and pour, it was all bright red cherry and light bodied. If tasted blind, I would have thought Pinot for sure.

As it picked up some air, the cherry deepened and darkened, some tannins came in, and lots of nuance developed. I'm getting a little bit of tea, a little bit of earth, some acid. Still pretty light bodied and reserved. I like it, but I agree, this isn't 94 points. Still a great QPR though.

Similar to last time. Lots of great red fruit with some light dusty road aspects. This bottle was a bit more tannic than the first. Medium-ish finish. Tasty.

Interesting bottle. Some cherry cola, some straight up cherry, and a fair amount of acid. Translucent—maybe they hit the press a bit hard? Overall decent, although I prefer the 2015.

If you happen to have one of these laying around, it’s probably time to crank it open. It’s held up quite nicely with good secondary characteristics. And it’s pretty mellow, like Stewart.

Big. Fills your senses. Red berries, a bit of earth, oak, and acid. Bold. Medium finish. One of a few Pinots I’d match up with steak without any reservations.

Not really sure what to expect here, but here’s what I got. Medium weight, assertive red berries, medium+ tannins, mouth drying finish. Probably would have been great with food, but I had this on its own. Decent QPR. Would probably buy again.

Still going strong in day 2. Good integration of blackberry, plum, leather, and oak. Pleasant tobacco and spice notes as well. Didn’t hold up as well as I would have hoped with steak sandwiches, but very nice on its own.

WOTN against 2013 Leonetti Agliancio, 2005 Dunham Lewis River Cab, 2007 Pepper Bridge Reserve, and 2009 Fort Walla Walla Treaty. Noticeably above some pretty good competition, with plenty of life left. Nice balance of cassis and tannin. Wow.

Really pretty. Well integrated red and black fruit with oak and spice and earth and lots of other nuances. Long finish. Great on its own or with food. A definite star that is starting to shine.

I didn’t get quite as much nuance. This, for now, is a bruiser. After four hours decanted, lots of dark fruit (mostly plum) with assertive tannins on the back end. Really long finish. There is definitely some finesse there, it’s just wrapped up pretty tight and not ready to come out yet. Not surprisingly, it will benefit from some more time in bottle.

Still going strong. Fruit flavor has fallen off somewhat, allowing nuances of tobacco and earth to start to come through. Still a good amount of acidity. Long finish emphasizes pie cherry.

Held up well on day two, with good fruit. Still mostly simple, but again, a great value. If you're looking for an everyday wine, this is it. Not quite a match for Tuscan orzo soup, but still pretty good.

Consistent. Bright red fruit, vanilla, earth. Big bodied with some assertive tannins. This particular bottle had a nice mineral element that I didn’t pick up in the last one. Again, a great value.

Day two update: the tannins lost some of their grip, allowing the right red cherry flavors to really shine. Definitely better balanced—I’d say it’s 91-92 after a night open.

Blackberry, smoked meat, and a bit of oak on the nose. Also some etoh. Big bodied but lithe with similar flavors rounded out with hints of tobacco, an herbal aspect, and a subtle mineral streak. Really long finish. Very happy with my decision to buy an extra half case when I had the chance.

You’ve got tannins, red berries, tobacco, cola, a bit of chocolate. Some oak. A medium-heavy tannic load. Long finish. Drinks really well on a Monday night and still decent for popping on a Saturday.

I had kind of a Jekyll/Hyde experience with this wine. When first opened, it was a hot mess: almost no fruit and all acid, not coherent, and barely drinkable. It was definitely not the same wine I had last time.

However, after a few hours of air, it seems to have bounced back. The acid is back in line, the red fruit (barely ripe raspberry, wild strawberry, pomegranate, etc) is coming to the fore, and some secondary characteristics are showing. It doesn't seem quite as good as the first bottle, but it's definitely much better than it first appeared.

Enjoyed with bar-be-que turkey burgers and sweet potato fries. Definitely not a winning combination...

Aromas of raspberry, dried cherry, tobacco, and spice. Medium-full bodied with strong but (mostly) smooth tannins. Flavors tend to mirror aromas. Long finish. Good now, but will improve with age.
