Such a pretty, elegant, and complex Champange. Not slowing down anytime soon.

Sweet and lacking any sense of complexity. $45-$60 NV bottles tasted beside this left this behind. Worst QPR in all of Champagne.

Half bottle disgorged Nov/Dec 2008. Not sure what the base vintage is but please comment if you know. Textbook Krug and no signs of decline. Balanced, complex, outstanding. I don't buy that inferior juice is placed in the 375, rather they may be releasing earlier and require a few extra years in the cellar.

Tasted next to 2003 Dom Perignon Rose. Heavier and more masculine in comparison. Noticed a hint of Dill across multiple bottles.

Disgorged October 2010. Large scaled, yet closed. A monster sleeping. Will give it another year.

Light golden core fading to a light straw rim. Nose of rubber, peach, and apricot. Acidity and sweetness play well off each other and provide a balanced and lingering finish. Great QPR.

White grapefruit, cantaloupe, pineapple skin. Creamy oak on the palate but not overwhelming, I would still give it a few years. Despite the hot year, the alc is well integrated. Great acidity and length, very well balanced. Improved the second day.

Disgorgement September 2011 - 4391 - L-SC04-12. Citrus zest, mandarin oranges, golden apple, chalk, ginger, honey, and Thai basil. Fine bubbles, creamy mousse and extremely well balanced. Beautiful and complex 30+ second finish. A bit young for my palate, will not be touching another bottle for a minimum of 2 years.

Opaque, glass staining dark cherry fades into a red rim. Fruit-Forward but not overdone or candied. Vanilla, chocolate, liquorice, smoke, cherry, blackberry, plum. Smooth, ripe tannins with lovely acidity. Touch of heat on the end leading to a spicy lingering finish. Overall, a well balanced Shiraz done right.

Vanilla, citrus rind, peppermint. Too hot on the finish for my liking, even when served at a cooler temperature. There are better 2009 Bordeaux Blanc out there for less.

Has the viscosity of oil in the glass. Wet stone, petroleum-based wax on apple peel, dried pineapple, ripe cantaloupe, flint. Beautifully complex but ripeness overshadows the acidity at this stage.

Popped and poured into Burgundy glasses. Focused and refined expression of citrus and mineral. Reminiscent of a young, barely oaked, Grand Cru Chablis. Hints of faint mushroom and toast emerge with time. Improved as it opened up and provided a spicy, lingering finish. Still a young and disjointed for my palate but the structure is clearly there, it just needs time. Will not touch another bottle for at least 5+ years. 90+

A lot of autolytic characteristics. Fresh baked bread, almonds, and pears. An ever so slight sweet incense peaks through. Pears and salted toffee balanced with an underlying minerality. Rich, creamy, and full, with well integrated acidity and long finish. A beautiful Champagne.

Inky, extracted, and oaky. Decanted for 4 hours. Prominent notes of vanilla and hazelnut followed by black fruits, plum and black tea. The barrel is overtly obvious. This is a big wine, nothing subtle or discreet here. More elegant on the palate than the nose after decanting. Silky tannins, med finish, well integrated alcohol.

Vibrant ruby red color. Nose of red cherry and plums. Not your traditional overtly chocolate and raisiny Amarone, their essences are subtle here. If you are expecting a sweeter, jammier style of wine you will be disappointed, this needs to be approached with an open mind. More elegance and femininity than you'll find in most Amarone. Simply gorgeous. Has become a new favourite.
