The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like fig, prune, forest floor, dust, espresso, lead pencil and bark. It tastes like black currant (cassis), fig, prune, strawberry jam, mineral, lead pencil, meaty and soy sauce. The body is full. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity. Drink up, as it is not going to improve.

Loads of fruit, well integrated, went perfectly with the Schnitzel. Lots of life still in this wine, glad I have a few more.

I noticed the capsule was sticky, and when I removed it there was more sticky substance on the top of what looked to be a partially sliced cork. With concern, I opened the bottle, and the cork practically flew out. On initial pour the color was bright golden yellow. Initially, lots of petrol on the nose, which blew off and became lemon curd. The wine still has tons of acid, lots of salivation going on, and has great lemon meringue pie taste and a long finish. I'm sorry I wasn't able to hold it for longer, but I'm sure glad that it was still very much drinkable anyway. Put the rest in the fridge for tomorrow.

The lead off wine for the night. This wine was wonderful, and a perfect way to start our evening. I can't wait to try the latest vintage, and I'm not a huge Chard drinker!

Beautiful Coho Salmon color. Cranberry and strawberry on the nose. Drier than the 2013, and much more balanced. Acid for days, long finish. Taste: Strawberries, white cherries and marzipan. Can drink this with or without food. Drinking with the neighbors, everyone says they prefer it to the 2013. Happy I ordered 2 cases, afraid they might not make it to July 4th.

Drank for a delayed OTBN. #TuscanVines opened the 2007 Riserva and said it was terrible, so I opened this to see if it was past it's prime. Great fruit, low tannins, slight bricking, leathery aroma, still drinking very well. I'm happy I opened this bottle, still have about half left to sample later today.

From the wonderfully aromatic nose, to the velvety feel, to the perfectly integrated taste, this wine was wonderful. It was a perfect wine to celebrate the 12th anniversary of very good friends. I'm sorry I'm down to only one bottle left in my cellar.

A bit subdued initially, with bright red cherry, red fruits, light earth, some leather, black tea and mulling spices. Medium acidity and finish, and the wine continued to evolve and open up over the course of dinner and gained in weight and complexity.

We opened a 2009 Ladd Pinot Noir Cuvee Abigail Wed night for RDHudak's birthday celebration. The wine had bright cherries, rose petals, orange peel, mulling spices on the nose. Tasting we found bright red fruits, mulling spices, little bit of tea, medium acidity, with a meduim length finish. The interesting thing is that the wine continued to evolve throughout the evening, and beat out both the 2007 Chappellet Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2007 Snowden Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon for WOTN honors. Dinner was grilled NY Strips, roasted small potatoes and salad. Eric is making really great wines, you need to check them out soon!

Drinking very well. Perfect midweek cellar defender that drinks above the price. Glad I've got 3 more! Fruity, not overly tannic, well balanced, would be good with food like the WineKnurd's Italian Peasant Soup!

Drank from Riedel tempranillo glass after first trying in Riedel Bordeaux glass. On initial pnp not as much on the nose compared to the Ondarre Reserva. Deeper in color, black cherry, spice, tobacco on nose. Full bodied on palate, tannins well integrated, but for my money I'd buy the regular Reserva every time. Better, but not by enough to justify almost twice the price.

Pnp. Very light ruby color. Raspberry, cranberry, floral nose with a hint of spice. Very well integrated, neither acid nor tannins overwhelms. Great cranberry and raspberry flavors, nice finish. I'm curious to see how this lasts over the next few years, as it's done in a lovely Burgundian style. Glad I've got 5 more in the cellar!
