Dried fruits, minerals, juniper and opens with more fresh fruit then evolves to a more complex, meditative wine with notes of expresso and chocolate. Would definitely let open for an hour. A great wine for the price.

Evolved very nicely over 2 hours. Worth the wait to let it sit for the 2 hours. Concentrated flavors of dark fruits, cedar and mint. Long finish; integrated tannins; velvety. Drinking well right now.

Rich; concentrated flavors of red meat, cherry syrup, cedar closet. tasted best with a slight chill. Pair very well with a grilled ribeye and sweet potatoes but may be even better with a sweeter dish (pork loin or duck breast).

Aromas of ripe cherry and cedar. Full bodied, nice structure. tastes of subtle flint; herbs; mint and berries. takes about 30 mins to open.

Poggio al Vento sits just out side the Montalcino environment (within 3 km). The quality of this wine is great and is of the same level of quality and taste of its neighbors across the border/

Very elegant wine.

Let open for 2.5 hours. Must say the taste did not change a lot after the 2.5 hours. Drinking well 5 hours after opening. Concentrated flavors; some sweetness. Paired well with a variety of foods, including a creamy cheese with thyme and chestnut honey. Of course paired well with the grilled lamb also. There was significant sediment.

Woodsy, minty aroma. On the palate fresh dark cherries, herbs, beef carpaccio with pink peppercorns. Opens quickly. Nice bright freshness. I noticed that it needed to be kept at cellar temp to maintain the tastes. As soon as it got up to room temp it lost some flavor and needed to be chilled. Very enjoyable wine.

Very soft, slightly smoky; dried red fruits; figs; wood; herbaceous aroma.

For a Riserva the wood tastes were not overwhelming but understated which had it blend in with the evening while also standing out.

Very enjoyable wine to drink. Has aged very well. Best from 30 mins to 2 hours after opening.

Very enjoyable wine. First time trying the Susucaru; had heard good reviews and recommended by several people and was not disappointed. Aromas were very pleasing: smoky, perfumed, lime sherbet, vanilla, black raspberry. On the palate it was very full body with taste of strawberries, straw and stones.

Initially tasted at refrigerator temp and later at about 55 degrees. Definitely better at the warmer temperature. The wine evolved nicely over the first 1.5 hours.

Tried with several different foods and cheeses and the pecorino with truffles stood out as the best.

Light body but many layers of complexity. Herbal, nice minerality with a long finish. A touch of oak. Would pair well with ribs or duck with a sweet glazed sauce. Excellent with toasted pistachio nuts (and good with the roasted potatoes and sardine dish that accompanied the nuts). Would serve slightly chilled.

Drinking wonderfully right now. Aromas of oak forest; alcohol, mothballs. Medium tannins; taste of warm ripe cherries, minty, dustiness. First hour was lots of cherry taste and then the oak started to be more noticeable. Both stages were different but both very nice in their own way.

Very nice wine. Opened to aromas of pipe tobacco; red fruits and alcohol. At first concerned the wine would be all alcohol. But after 10 to 15 minutes to alcohol aroma left and the taste were of dried berries; oak, grains with medium tannins, Paired very well with grilled lamb and eggplant. Excellent wine for the price. Definitely a good Garagiste purchase. Wish I had bought more than 3!

Aromas of ripe blueberry, white pepper and baking spice. Medium body; soft tannins; continued to show more fruit as it opened. Can drink as a pop and pour but it does evolve over time (the time is limited not by the evolution but because you will enjoy and drink it all). Very delightful wine.

Aromas of unripe blueberry, white pepper, green pepper, nutmeg and egg nog. Opens quickly but continuing improving over time and after 2 hours was very good. Great dinner wine that is easy to pair. Hard wine to find in the US. Had a 2014 previously but this was a much better product (maybe the aging).

Very aromatic. Fresh ripe cherries with a touch of licorice and spice. Soft tannins and a long finish. opened up within 20 minutes. A wonderful wine. Within 1.5 hours the aromas died down and the fresh ripe cherry flavor gave way to deeper taste that definitely needed food. I thought that the first 1.5 hours the wine was at its best.
