This wine was fantastic. Decanted at a restaurant and found it to be lush, nicely structured, well balanced. Nice initial attack of dark fruit which seamlessly transitioned in the mid palette and a finish that lasted a minute or so. Wish I had more.

Pop and poured first glass. Second glass after an hour in the bottle. Lght purpleish color. Lush, complex blackberry and black cherry high degree of extraction but not over the top. Heavy mouthfeel for a pinot. Definitely a cab lover's pinot, good call DSaeedi. One of those wines that puts a smile on your face when you finish your first sip.

Kinda unimpressed when i started drinking. Dark fruit and oak. BUT...This wine is much better when you drink the entire bottle in a short period of time. I highly recommend doing so.

Tasted blind, and I guessed $28-$34 range. So bumming off the bat. Sour cherry and smoke slightly bitter taste . Medium finish and oddly a bit of heat at the very end. Disappointing for the price.
In reading the other reviews, to be fair to Étude, my allergies are acting up and that may affect my senses here.

Nice bottle after a Bryant Estate bottle. Overall, yeah, good juice. I don't know what pusillanimous means, but i agree with the score. Now that I've looked that up, (thank you internet), i don't agree with the description, but that's fine.

You can drink it tomorrow and never worry about drinking it too early. Smooth, velvety tannins. Black and red fruit. Has a terrific roundness to it. Never would have guessed it a 2009.

mflesh, no worries. I will be happy to give it 96, possibly 97. I had this along with a Napa Valley Reserve, Rudd, Hundred Acre, and Schrader Old Sparky. To me, this was the wine of the night! Loved everything about it. Color, depth, weight, roundness, complexity, length. So well balanced, I had to look at the bottle over and over to make sure I remembered this wine. Looking forward to finding it to add to my inventory. Wow, was this good.

I had this after drinking way too much. And I am bummed out that I have to give a review in that state. But, please, I had an Old Sparky!!! It was full, it was balanced, it rocked. Not much depth to the review, but neither was I that night!

A definite California cab. Juicy, fruity, medium plus weight with a lingering finish. The wife liked it more than me, but pretty good. 90 for me, 93 for her.

Cherries, eucalyptus and cedar on an interesting, pleasant nose. Medium to fuller bodied. Sour cherries, just like Laube said, with oak and some minerality. Finish is fairly long. Much better than the last bottle.

Solid cab that I blind tasted after the bottle was open for 45 minutes. Pretty nose of plum, blackberry, currant, black cherry, and vanilla all coming through. Medium weight, more black fruit on the pallette with enough oak to soften it. Had a great roundness to it, and a nice medium length finish. Great structure and fairly complex, as I remember. I guessed $40+ and a terrific wine for the money.

Pop and poured at a Pizza joint. $7.50 corkage fee. Pretty floral nose with cassis and cherry. Easy drinking smooth and lush texture with layered cassis, cherry, pepper with a spicy longish finish. Found at a local wine store, great recommendation from the guy working there. Will buy more.

Pop and poured And glad I did. This is an 'enough' wine. As in enough of a nose, enough fruit, enough structure, enough finish to make it interesting enough and drinkable. Enjoyed at a French restaurant, and I learned how to pronounce 'Pauillac,' bonus!

Pop and pour. Then waited another 30 minutes. Big difference from very grippy to easy drinking. I found it fruity, emphasis on berry with currant and tobacco in it. Pleasantly surprised how much life was left in this wine.

Tasted at cafe lucci in Chicago. Marcia Mondavi Borger hosted and is a lovely person. Typical Tim Mondavi style: refined and elegant, big, but not over the top. Drinkable now for such a baby, and the depth and complexity of this multi layered wine will last for ages to come. I remember tasting chocolate on the finish. While my favorite is the 08, the 09 is another outstanding effort by the Continuum clan.

Decanted for two hours and glad i did. This wine has it all. Pretty, full fruity nose. full bodied, jammy dark fruit that filled and coated the mouth with enough spice and alcohol to make it interesting and delicious. This is the highest score I have given, and it is well deserved.

Dark fruit with solid structure and a hint of leather. Drinking well right now. The acid levels are right at the border of being too high, and i kind of like that in this wine. medium plus weight and finish. Wife says jammy and silky, but I am not getting that. 90 +

What I like in California Bordeaux. Long legs, ruby color. Nose and taste of cherry, cassis, a hint of leather, supple tannins and just an enjoyable ride. Smooth persistent finish. Looks like I enjoy it more than the community, but I've got nothing but love for this wine. Glad I have more of it and will revisit soon.

This is a great couples wine. Rich, lush texture and a highly extracted slightly sweet taste of plum, currant, vanilla with perhaps a hint of baking spice. Dark purply color and smooth tannins. I like it better than the way over extracted Special Selection.

Opened for 2 hours and that's a must for this producer. Dark garnet color. Nose is not overpowering, but definitely dark fruit present. Firm, grippy tannins. I get lots of chocolate with a finish that lasts for a long while. Improved with each glass during the night. Love my Buoncristianis.

Opened for an hour. Blind tasted this and guessed maybe $20. What a disappointment. Smoke, dust, leather, dry dark fruit somewhere. We've had this before and wasn't anything like this. Doesn't taste corked but maybe something altered this??? Tried two hours later, still terrible. What a waste.

Big, polished, balanced, and elegant. Decanted for 3+ hours, and it needed every minute of it. What a New Year's. Spottswoode, Lewis, Pahlmeyer, Mondavi Reserve, Peter Michael. Couldn't say no to any of them, and I'm suffering the consequences. But I digress. This wine is exceptional.

Opened for 1/2 hour on Christmas Eve. I was worried about this wine, having a few less than stellar bottles of Quintessa not so long ago. I was happy to see it back on track. Cool, cloudy glass. Elegant in the mouth, with terrific transition throughout. I agree with most all of what Eteyemd said other than preferring the 07 to this one. Perhaps another bottle of the 07 will change my mind.
