OK.... I had to test it out. Not ready to drink yet. The fruit was backward and not integrated and overall a disappointment. The 2012 vintage is drinking better young than any in recent history, so I worry about this one. On the other hand Caymus is one of the most consistent producers in Napa, so it will probably just take some time to come around.

11/7/14, 12:46 PM - Did not see yours. Went back and took a look. We rated it one point apart I think mostly because it was Caymus we gave it the "benefit of the doubt" so it didn't get a 75. There is still hope.... I even bought some of the 1 Liter bottles... We can take turns drinking them and report in. I think January I will try another one.

2012 Justin Vineyards & Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles

This was a wine club bottle. The Justin "regular" cab is a hit or miss depending on the year. This one left me wanting more. The fruit seemed very disjointed and the tannins were weak. It was young (maybe too young) but I wanted to decide if I wanted a couple cases as drinkers. Decided NO.

8/16/14, 12:03 PM - Every year I go to Washington DC to the Bassins Cabernet Barrel Tasting. This year ALL the 2012 wines were very drinkable right now.
This is the first time this has happened. They were drinking like they were 2009 or so. The real question is how well will they age.

As que_syrah noted the fruit is solid but the tannins were lacking. I found some that had a good tannic backbone at the tasting but share the concern of longevity.

We usually drink one white and one red each day. They are drinking good and I think will drink good for a few years. I plan to buy the vintage.... but right now I am still hooked on the 2010 vintage which is readily available.
