Good but not great. Drank over 2 hours. There was not enough fruit, no smoke, no earth, no long finish. No characteristics are outstanding with this wine. I drank this in 2017 in Bordeaux and it was much better. Might be past its prime? Disappointed.

TXRhoneRanger is right, this is in a very good spot right now. Seven years ago it was still difficult and closed, and I wondered if it would ever come round. It has! Perfectly classical, rich Pomerol profile on the nose with raspberries and spicy red meat, blonde tobacco and forest floor, earthy with a lifted touch of mint; harmonious and energetic palate, fresh and minerally, with a good stuffing of crushed red berry fruit, grippy but not overbearing oak; tannic finish, but with good resonance and length. Lovely now, at peak, drink now - 2024.

For me a big surprise as it is just medium bodied (in a very positive way) with an exceptional harmony and spiciness. Fine bourbon vanilla and beautiful sweetness. Ultra fine tannins, ends in a long long finish

Wine was bad.

4/9/20, 12:39 PM - What do you mean with „bad“? Was there a fault? Then it doesn’t make sense to rate it! 50 means 0

Coravin. Glass 4. Hmm, acidity much better this time... Still 92p.

3/24/20, 9:17 AM - Hi Zorg, how do you explain the change of the wine as Argon is a noble gas which does not "develope" the wine like oxygen?

Felt pretty dead. Tasted alongside '10 St Estephes from superior winemakers. Two more bottles in cellar. Lets see if they are any better. Will try again very soon.
  • schneesurfer commented:

3/18/20, 7:20 AM - 50 means flawed or major fault. So if this was the case don’t rate a wine. If you don’t want comments on your ratings (positive and negative) leave it. This is just an advice, don’t want to attack you.
    Did you try another bottle?

Really rather delicious
  • schneesurfer commented:

2/24/20, 9:13 AM - Do you really mean the Seguin from Blaye? ... or the much better wine from Pessac?

Weekly tasting group RWP #258: Bordeaux 2000 (@ VD): Beautiful bouquet with vanilla, beautiful oak and autumn forest. On the palate juicy dark berries, graphite, licorice, herbs and spices, good acidity and tannin with still a good bite. Good length.

3/29/19, 2:32 AM - Hi Zweder, what do you think how long this wine can go?

Weekly tasting group RWP #237: Bordeaux blends worldwide (@ BS): Beautifully ripe dark berry fruits, some laurel, licorice, luxurious oak, and pleasant rustic flavors in the bouquet. On the palate the same dark berries, cassis, blackberries, a firm dose of beautifully dosed oak, good acidity and round, powerful tannin. A bit rustic as well. Beautiful wine with a future of at least another decade. I have a few, so there will be follow ups. 92+ for tonight.
