This is one you lay down. Has a lot of promise. NIce dark fruit. Shows some elegance.

I never had the 15 vintage. I am a WC member, and never received it. The 16 is so good though. Cheers my friend,

Just a incredible cab from napa, California

Wish I had more. Great vintage and producer. Cheers

8/7/19, 5:27 PM - Of course being my personal opinion, I think it’s drinking nicely now. It’s so hard to drink now and compare what it tasted like a year go, especially if you felt like it was pouring nicely both years. There are times that you open a bottle and you know it’s not ready... this was not one of those times. Enjoy :)

Complex, tons of fruit. Needs some time to open up. Say 1-2 hours. Cheers

Please hold, as this 2012 vintage was very young. usually the '12 vintage is drinkable.

    8/12/16, 7:05 AM - Hi wineotim,

I did. I have found that most California '12 are drinkable. In this case, the Beringer was very tight.

Incredible. Cola, berry, hints of caramel. Very delicious, and will become even better with the years to come.
  • Cuellar's Cellar commented:

7/19/16, 10:18 AM - Yea, I have had this wine the last 7 vintages, and this wine shows very well. Way different from he '12. I have 3 of them, so I thought it was time to see how long I should hold the other two. Either way, I believe this will hold very nicely.

    7/20/16, 7:47 AM - Hi @csimm1161

I did not decant. Well I opened the bottle, and let it sit for about 20 mins. Then I never put the cork back on. Drank over 4 hours. I believe that in today's age, California wines are drinkable today. Now this was not 2012 vintage, where it was 100% ready, but it very drinkable. If I had 1 bottle, I would drink with a great meal at a restaurant. Hope that helps

Ok, so I have Insignia from all different vintages. I just feel that this is a good wine. BUT for the price it is over rated. I feel like the scores are high due to the name. I love Phelps, but I for the price.....this wasn't worth it.

7/21/14, 11:54 AM - Agreed Berry. I wish I would of done the same. Glad I was able to help. Kevin

    6/19/15, 3:59 PM - Hi Pcrage,

I would never give a score due to the price. Sorry if that was mis-leading. In my opinion, Insignia is an amazing wine. I feel like some people give it a extremely high score due to the name. When I tasted this, I truly believe it was a good wine, just not mind blowing.
According to Wine Spectator, here is their rating:

Wine Spectator tasters review wines on the following 100-point scale:

    95-100 Classic: a great wine
90-94 Outstanding: a wine of superior character and style
85-89 Very good: a wine with special qualities

So 89 seems fitting to me.
