Drank from 1/2 bottle. This wine has it all. Sure it can last 20 but decided to take a sneak peak. Left a nip for second eve and was beautiful. The nose is still young and undeveloped but the palate staining deep red / purple cab is strong and can be appreciated now with a couple of hours in the glass/decanter. Delicious.

Spectacular. Fresh and vibrant, deep burgundy color with no signs of age. Great mouthfeel and uplift / earthy fruity minerals. Delicious!!!

Simply a great bottle. The 2001 is the best Palomo imo and it shows!
Great fruit, plush, medium complexity and overall wonderful mouth feel. Mid palate length was only reason it didn't score closer to perfection.

One of the best Quilceda's imo over the last decade. Has a youth and freshness to it along with power and complexity. Yes, loads of blueberry and blackberry (pie). The 2003....consistently great.

Simply a fabulous bottle. Followed up with 2007 next eve. This time the 2006 out showed its younger sibling.

Beautiful bottle and wonderfully aged in the cellar. A recent review mentioned "velvet revolver" - totally agree. Fantastic!

Fabulous wine with plenty of backbone and structure. Initially tame with notes of aged citrus and baked apple. An hour later, wine pumped with minerals and showed some Burgundian depth and finesse typical of this cuvee. Simply great stuff.

Darn right delicious even at this early stage. Full of ripe spicy / peppery fruit. All components well integrated. Liking the Cayuse, my friends.

Mature Chard with notes of creme brulee, vanilla and butterscotch. Fell a little flat in the mouth (lower acidity and age?). Could be a bottle issue - wasn't the best Kistler given its pedigree.

Consistently been the best Paloma made to date, imo. Plush velvety texture with loads of fresh deep fruit on the plate. Tons of nose and yes, its CA so you notice the extract and alcohol but still a great Merlot.

Fragrant strawberry and raspberry nose. Sappy and flavorful on the palate with slightly hot finish. 15.3% alcohol.

Citrus, melon and apple notes around a strong acid line. A good showing but lacked elegance on finish. Maybe I was expecting too much from a very ripe CA vintage? Can't complain...was still tasty.

Has always been a delicious and more concentrated pinot from Kistler! Did not disappoint tonight. Aromas and flavors of bright cherry, raspberry on loamy, forest floor with a peety dampness that gave it great character through an impressively dense and concentrated finish. Well done!

Core red fruit but rather lean. Acidity slightly high without the depth making it not worth the price.

Beautiful wine. Full of fruit, earth, truffles, tar, peppery notes. Youthful and full of tannins. Decanted 1 hour which it needed to open.

Laser acidity with minerals, zest, vanilla bean and apple. Great flavors keep pumping. A touch of heat reflects high alcohol content but not too bad.

Less precise than typical Aubert's. Melon, citrus and oak dominate on a rounded frame.

Disjointed bottle of wine. Consistent with prior tastings. There is terroir but the integration from such a great vineyard is disappointing given the price. Loved the 2001, 2002. What happened with 2005 (a very good year for Napa Cabs)?

Killer syrah. This was firing on all cylinders. What makes SQN and in particular this bottle so great is the complete integration of laser precise acid, ripe dark fruit, big alcohol and velvety tannins. The depth and length on the full palate was completely amazing. This is a flashy primal wine that was fun to drink.

A great older Kistler that was well endowed from the get go. Tasted seven years ago. Surprised this was still vibrant and young. Another ten years of life? Balanced, cherry and watermelon jolly ranchers pumping a flavorful finish of 30 seconds plus. Fun!

Wow! What a fun, hedonistic wine pleasure! Delicious from the get go. Ripe mangoes, pineapple, vanilla, citrus oils and mint. Beautifully balance for a big 14.8% alcohol wine. Looking forward to my next bottle!

Finally coming around! Tasted two previous bottles closer to release date and was disappointed that the wines were closed. This is now showing it stuff. Ruby color, red fruit, anise, cedar, dried tobacco. A bit lean and tannic but ready for consumption window.

Solid grenache in modern style. Ripe, full bodied with loads of tannins. Drank over three evenings. Progressive, hence it should age nicely for over a decade. Needs to shed its youthfulness to merit higher score. Agree with other tasting note of 7/12/11 on third evening.

Deep and concentrated with core of baked apple, pineapple, vanilla and toasty oak. Fell a little flat given the alcohol and concentration. Overall a good wine, but lacked the acidity to make it outstanding.

Historically, the Hayne vineyard zin was worth every penny when produced by Turley. This wine was good but not great given the high price tag. Flavors were weak and spicy zin notes faded sooner than anticipated. Maybe an off bottle?

Easy to drink Riesling liked by both sophisticated and untrained palates. Crisp honey pear flavors with excellent acidity. Paired with crackers and various cow, goat and sheep milk cheeses.

Yummy Pinot. Paired with Chinese food including Peking duck. We drank it so fast it didn't have much time to evolve. That said, wine had copious fruit and some tannins still to shed. Drink now and over next five years.

A great Cab from a great vintage. Shared with great friends over a fabulous meal. Decanted, plums, fresh raisins, anise, and spice on the nose. Seamless on the palate. Tannins are there bult melt away after seconds. Flavors of black currant, blueberries and plums pump through on a fine path over minute finish. Yummy stuff. A treat!
