Nose: Pungent Blackberry and herbs. Complex, dark n brooding. Some funkyness (in a good way) on the nose matchning the fruit and acidity of the wine. Big, senusual and firm dark fruit, spices and hints of oak. Best chateauxneuf I had in years. Drinking well now but will last 5-10years of cellering.

don't know where to start with this amazing wine, beautiful ruby red color. perfectly balanced acid/tannins. its Powerful but still elegant. the nose is and explosion of redberries with hints of blackberry, pepper, tar violets and some tosted oak. the taste is just as amazing as the nose sweet redberries with streaks of dark fruit, pepper/herbs/bayleaf and some coffehints from the oak.

dusty red berries and plum on the nose with floral hints. same dusty red fruit/plum combo in the mouth, the is also some cedar and oak mainly in the aftertaste. not super exciting but a good solid Pomerol from an difficult vintage. it has an nice elegans, meduim tannins and a nice balance

notes from memory: Deep dark almost black color, massive nose, sweet darkfruits, flowers and some funky/barnyardy notes. in the mouth the wine is big and bold but not heavy, nicely integrated tannins with a refreshing acidity.taste: loads of sweet dark fruits, apple peel, flowers and some crushed stones/barnyard'ish hints. great stuff

notes from memory: big and dark nose with blackberry blackpepper flowers (viola) hints of raspberry. in the mouth you get an medium body wine with nice fresh acidity loads of blackberry/raspberry, blackpepper & bayleaf.
some of the wine was poured into a halfbottle and stored in the fridge for a couple of days. the last half was really delicious. the wine had really come together, the acidity stepped back abit and made the spicy elements and some sweet fruit step forward. Im glad I have 3 more bottles + a magnum, this will be 93+ in a couple of years

big nose of blackberry, cherry, violets, bay leaf and hints of oak.
Clean fruity taste (bonedry not jammy fruit) dark fruits violets Cherry and hints of pepper/bayleaf + some very well intergrated oak. the wine was better on day 4 (stored in a halfbottle in the fridge) this one needs cellaring for a couple of years no doubt. good stuff

day one: fresh green apples, citrus and some honey... half of the bottle is poured into a halfbottle and stored in the fridge for 5 Days: the wine seems to have more body, still crisp with greenapples but less citrus and more honey/tropical fruit character. its really nice now, bur will probebly get better with age.

a rather powerfull nose: Cassis (with some red fruit thrown in), cedarwood, coffe, tobacco and oak. an elegant wine with sleak body but firm tannins (like bordeaux should be ;) taste not as powerfull as the nose but really nice, its drinking well now but will probebly age well for another 8-10 years. with the 07 vintage in mind this is excellent stuff.

Dark and brooding, with blackberry and meaty notes (some maturity) . quite tannic still. I really like my Bandol mature so Ill save my last bottle acouple of years more.

Taste notes from memory: mature classic Boreadux nose, soft earthy taste with hints of cassis, iron and earth. a Nice wine but past its peak and abit too soft for my personal taste...

drank over a couple of days. Day One: fresh green apple, citrus: nice but not fantastic. Day Three: nice complex nose for apple tropicalfruits and lemon. I wish I got more bottles cos this one clearly gets better with time

black current, dark fruits and some coffe/oak on the nose. black current, plum and some nicely intergrated oak adding some luxurious coffee tones to the finish. there is an hint of greenishness to it (I guess its the vintage) but its not ruining the wine. its quite soft and ready to drink but will probebly last a few years more

Quite elegant and light but very nice balance. Classic bordeaux taste with cassis, leadpencil and mocca. oak in perfect balance. you just know this is classy stuff only the vintage is abit "wierd" for lack of abetter word.

Classic Mature Bordeaux nose: Cassis and barnyard.
Taste is dry, hints of Cassis, iron, leadpencil and barnyard. great stuff for around 35-40€ some more fruit wouldnt hurt but its no big problem.

fruity wine with hints of blackberries and strawberries and a spicy finish. quite powerfull but I would have liked some more Mourvedre in the blend (90% Grenache, 5% Mourvèdre, 5% Clairette) too beef it up some more. even so its a great wine.

My first Saint estephe: from what I heard about Montrose I expected more tannins but this is surpricingly smooth, just some tannins in the back. cool dark fruits and some cedar/herbs/pencil plus some nicely intergrated oak. if this Is what Ch. Montrose can do with a second wine in a off-vintage, then I cant imagine how good the first wine is in a good vintage.
