Not as good as I remember other vintages and may have had some VA as it did seem a little off with a tart/sour note. As the price has gone parabolic in the last few years, there is definitely little room for error in terms of QPR here.

67PM supper: A pure and transparent expression of red fruit and unmistakably Burgundian. Was very impressed that this was such a clean and precise wine for the classification and vintage. A very pretty red colour in the glass and a superb effort for a 2019 that did not show any excess jamminess or blockiness that I have encountered from some other producers. Very much up my alley and everyone else's at the table.

The ugly duckling has turned into a swan! The tannins have mellowed but their imprint is noticeable as a sort of background structure. The red berries feel youthful and complex. The attack is, well, not soft, but very very fine. The freshness is all there.

And the minerality is laced around the fruit in a way that makes me think of Clos Rougeard or Thierry Germain cab franc (Domaine des Roche Neuve).

Extremely delish and at the same time contemplative and structured, but in a way that feels so much more light in style than when I tried the first bottle in 2013. Well worth the wait!

May have been damaged.

7/7/15, 5:11 PM - It was good, just not as good as I remember the previous bottle. Was stored in refer that went kaput in the middle of summer in Hawaii.
