Nose is crunchy red fruit, cranberry, strawberry
palate is slightly underripe strawberry and fresh cranberry with savory notes with some bitter/peppery tannins on the finish

A fair amount of complexity, seems like tannins could integrate more.

Nose is peach, grapefruit, lemon, amaretto.
Palate is both sweet and mineral salty. Ripe grapefruit, grilled salted lemon. Alcohol is apparent on the finish, but bright acidity steadied it from being overwhelming. No doubt this is a delicious wine and doesn't need to intellectual, but definitely also has stimulating complexity.

Banyard funk, licorice, bittersweet black cherry, plum, forrest floor, mushrooms. Fierce minerality, mouth coating richness and body, fine tannins. The funk with the richness remind me of eating a dried cherry with a slice of brie.

Day 2: barnyard funk has faded and spice and floral elements have emerged. Salinity and fruit notes are consistent with prior day.

Definitely better on day 2, so if you drink now give it a long decant. Opened this to figure out what to do with upcoming release, I definitely like this wine, not sure if I love it at this price point.

Blackberry preserves, cassis, licorice, anise on the nose and palate. A textured wine with a silky mid palate. The asian spice reminds me of bbq meats along the lines of korean kalbi.

Juicy plum, blueberry, orange blossom, and brambly aromatics.
Ripe blueberries and dark cherries on the palate with some saline minerality & complexity.

A touch of acidity and grippy tannins balance this wine out. This is an expressive and thought provoking zin.

color is a medium purple almost red
nose initially is fresh fruit: strawberry and rainier cherry. Then evolves to secondary aromas of pine and rosemary with some floral aspects too.
the palate leans on the savory side where it has an earthy mushroom filled experience.

This is definitely a wine to take your time with to enjoy the aromas, I wish I got a bit more fruit on the palate, but I could just enjoy sniffing this wine for the rest of the night.

This was on the riper and sweeter end of the zins that ridge make. It was tasty and easy to drink, but I didn't get much depth beyond ripe dark fruit (fig & blackberry).

Color was dark opaque purple
Nose was ripe cherry, mint, mushrooms, and you get some heat too
Palate is baked cherries, plum, anise, licorice
When pop and poured, the heat takes over a bit, but there is some acidity to balance this wine out. Has textured tannins, but finished a bit bitter which resolved after it was opened for a few hours and even nicer the next day.

Patience may be needed for this one to fully appreciate it.

Drank from one of the 375 samplers.

purple slightly brown? on the edges
nose is spiced gingerbread, ripe raspberries, cloves
palate continues the spiced notes with some delicious salinity/minerality. Ripe red fruit plays off the earth tones with a bit of acidity to round it out.

It's tasting quite well already, but it didn't quite have the entrancing aromatics that I've experienced with previous bottlings. I'm not sure if that's due to the youth or this specific vintage, but I'm looking forward to seeing how these will evolve!

Palate is granny smith apple and lemon with acidity that hits up front but has a lush mouth feel and a touch of salinity. It finishes clean with lingering slightly sweet tropical fruit of pineapple and kiwi.
Very enjoyable and amazing value, I wish I bought much more of this than I did.

Non detailed notes, but after decanting for 1.5 hours, this was absolutely singing. Purity of fruit, luxurious smoothness and length of finish stood out. Well deserved of the wine of the year marks!

Color is dark opaque purple
Nose is plum, white pepper, orange peel, and herbs
Palate is ripe plum and soy souce with stemmy, herbal, earthy undertones
Finishes with rich and juicy tannins

It's definitely ripe but not overly sweet (at least for this style CA pinot). The nonfruit characteristics add good depth and complexity.

This easy drinker would definitely be a crowd pleaser on many levels

Mellow acidity and very floral finish, this was a very tasty wine but I'm not sure if I can justify the QPR

Saw this at whole foods and decided it was finally time to give it a go:
Color is dark opaque purple
Nose is dark cherry, blackberry, toasted graham cracker, hint of green herbs
Palate is mouthful of blackberry jam, spiced cherry pie, honeycomb, sweet vanilla
Supple tannins finishes as rich dark chocolate
Fairly full bodied without much acidity

Sweetness is a bit over the top, but I could see this being a crowd pleaser.

Color is garnet to purple and nearly opaque.
Nose is black cherry and shitake mushroom.
Palate is ripe cherry with a rich sweet caramel and jasmine tea secondary notes.
Tannins start lush and finish on the chalky side.

A fruit forward wine that seems pretty approachable to drink right now.

Color is light purple to red. Nose is raspberry and cherry, a bit of spice and earth. Sweet cherry palate, medium bodied. It could use a bit more acidity to balance the sweetness. The vanilla spice comes in on the finish leaving you with thoughts of cherry pie.

Seems good to go, pop your corks freely!

My first Chablis! Pale yellow and transparent. Nose is grapefruit and honeydew. Initial palate impression is saline and minerals, but it finishes with a big kick of citrus rind. Don't have much to compare this to, but it grew on me over time.

Used a cup of this to pressure cook some short ribs and drank the rest with the meat and polenta.

Nose is cherry and mushroom. Medium body with low acid and soft tannins. Earthy palate with some ripe blueberry, but not much complexity nor finish. Easy drinking and approachable.

Cherry lip balm, hint of spice, and watermelon on the nose. Full bodied on the palate with some green herbaceous notes to go with the red fruit and white pepper. Finishes fairly hot but the tannins and acidity smooth it out a bit.

Poured a glass from my coravin, but the cork didn't reseal properly. Looks like I'll have fun with this 15.5% over the next couple days.

Beautiful floral nose, but disappointingly out of balance. Too acidic without enough fruit to back it. Might be too young or maybe just not my style.

Brought it to a dinner at Alexander's Steakhouse. Quite delicious already, though it's fairly young. What stuck out to me was strikingly good balance. Fragrant red fruit, floral hints and a touch of oak and spice. Medium body and medium acidy made it really easy to drink and enjoy with everything. Definitely a food friendly wine.

Color is a pale violet purple. A restrained nose with hints of crushed blueberries and reminds me of Char-Siu (Chinese BBQ pork).

Palette continues with subtle hints of blackberry and blueberry, but spiced asian meat and earthiness is what stands out.

Quite well balanced, the acid, body, alcohol, and tannins all compliment each other in each wonderful sip. Elegant tannins lead into a soft and luscious finish. Really quite enjoyable now.

The wine is a violet hue with raspberry and plum on the nose. Delicate red fruit on the palate initially and quickly transitions to a caramel, butterscotch, cocoa, and licorice mid palate. This is a full bodied wine with balanced acidity and nicely integrated tannins. It had a medium plus finish and is enjoyable and approachable now.

Drank this with a bunch of different wines at the Castello, but adding a tasting note just for this one because it was my favorite of the bunch. Pricier for the flavor, but I still nabbed two bottles to stash away. One thing I noticed was the bottles I purchased had no label (it was printed directly on the bottle), but the bottle that was poured during the tasting was a normal bottle with paper labels.

Tart raspberry, cherry, strawberry, orange and jasmine on the nose. Palate initially bursts with sour red fruit dominated flavors but transitions into cherry-cola and liquorice on the mid-palate. Subtle notes of black pepper and jasmine tea on the finish. While it leans more sour with high acidity, it's fairly well balanced with wonderful tannins, medium plus body, and medium plus finish.

Had this was some chinese roast squab and it paired beautifully. The dark fruit flavors and round mouth feel balanced out the crispy oily skin of the squab. It finishes with hints of asian spice and anise.
