Popped and poured. On the nose, dark fruit and some oak. Tastewise, very nicely balanced, with just enough heat to make it a great accompinement to a rich pasta and eggplant par meal. Lots of bottle age was very good for this wine.

Pale yellow, on the nose and palate melons primarily. Good acid, nice finish. Accompanied a fish dinner very nicely.

Still drinking very well.. The sangio sharpness and acidity is nicely balanced by the roundness of the merlot and cab. It went well with cheese ravioli and tomato sauce tonight.

It was very good after some decant. But went downhill after a few days. Lots of sediment.

Still drinking well, no sign of deterioration. Love the acidity that the sangio brings, really makes it go well with pasta and tomato sauce.

Nose is muted, but some strawberry notes. Color is typical light red for a PN. Light body. Palate is very nicely balanced with good acid and a touch of heat, sour cherry fruit and just enough earthiness to be true to the varietal. Glad I have a lot more, should be good thru 2013. Does not need food to shine.

I thought the nose on this was muted, with some menthol maybe hiding other notes. Beautiful color, medium body (thin legs). After maybe 45 minutes decant, I tried my first glass, which had too much oak. Later, the fruit became more pronounced, and much later, the wine showed the balance I expected. But I really expected more, maybe I need to age this more. Hoping for a better experience with other Victory Reserves from Peter.

Nose is dark fruit and just a hint of leather. Color is deep red, no legs, the wine just coats the glass evenly. On the palate, the dark fruit is nicely balanced by some heat and soft tannins. Wonderful mouthfeel and medium-long finish. A wonderful wine that still has plenty of life, if you have any more.

I am finally understanding the value of the Noceto Riservas: let them age and give them plenty of air and you have a really fine example of the varietal. Glad I have more. This 05 has plenty of life left. Wonderful balance of the cherry fruit, acid to make it an excellent food wine, soft tannins and nice mouthfeel. Good value too.

Rough, too much heat, not nearly enough fruit. Maybe going downhill fast? I would never have guessed the varietal drinking it blind, would have guessed it was a cheap and bad sauv. Blanc.

on edit: finishing this bottle a week after opening and surprised to find it is much better tonight, maybe because it is paired with some spicy Mexican style frozen pizza. Seems like the spices in the pizza are bringing out the fruit in the wine, so I have upped my rating by a bunch.

Accompanied my mushroom, garlic and anchovies pasta dish tonight and it was very good. A little too much oak, right now, which throws it out of balance with the fruit. But good acid and heat makes it a good food wine. I'll try my second bottle in about 4-5 years to see if the balance improves.

on edit, this wine needs lots of air. I finished the bottle last night, about 5 days after opening and sealing, and it was absolutely sublime.

Enjoyed very much as a sipper while preparing my favorite pasta dish for the family. Only regret is it looks like I don't have any more, but I have lots of an older vintage. Oh well, as the REAL Fleetwood Mac used to sing!

Wow, this bottle disappeared quickly over lunch today. Simply one of the best PN's I've ever tasted. It has great fruit and that wonderful earthiness as well. Beautiful balance with just enough acid. I'll hold on to my last bottle for a special occasion.

Popped and poured, no decant needed at all. Typical light ruby color, no legs on the swirl. Not much nose, but on the palate there is plenty of cherry fruit, nicely balanced with some heat, acid and soft tannins. Nice long finish. I have a iot of this so I am very please that it still has a ways to go. Excellent QPR as usual.

Classic PN color, very pretty. On the nose, cherry fruit and some barnyard/leather. I popped and poured to have a glass with some lamb chops and it worked well. But it really shines just sipping by itself. Plenty of cherry fruit, nicely balanced by some heat and acid. Very nice mouthfeel and finish. Even for a woot cellars wine, the qpr is great.

Surprisingly tasty and bright. Lighter than most cabs, very drinkable. It would be a good accompaniment to lighter fare such as the london broil I had it with, but the tannins are barely noticeable so not with a good steak.

Still drinking very well. I actually opened this bottle several days ago, and it's been in the fridge vacu-vinned. But it's still very tasty, so I think any remaining bottles should be good for at least another year or two.

Probably past its prime but it's still a big wine. Fruit seems to have faded and the earth/leather is more predominant. Still great mouthfeel, lots of tannins and some heat make it an excellent food wine.

After reading previous tasting notes, I was prepared to try this and quickly pour it down the sink. But this bottle is actually not bad at all. Pretty soft, and enough acid to make it a good food wine with pasta and fried shrimp. Considering the price I was very happy with it. I assume bottle variation explains the different takes on this wine.

Really opens up nicely after 30 minutes or so. It's medium dark red and lighter than I expected, kind of like a sangiovese, and it reminds me of a very good sangio on the palate as well. Excellent balance of fruit, leather/earth, heat. Excellent both with pasta and sipping by itself. Great QPR.

Clean, tangy and crisp. Good fruit - acid balance. Better at room temp than chilled. Flavors are melon and apple.

Great alternative to chard and sauv. blanc. Good with light foods but better just sipping by itself.

Opened this bottle to accompany a special leg of lamb dinner, and it served that purpose well. But I was looking for more "oomph". Maybe too nuanced for me?

edit: several days later, after stored in the fridge vacu-vinned, it is showing more oak and fruit, especially mid-palate and finish which is very long.

Next bottle should be decanted.
