Had this with a dinner at the Fisherman's on SC Pier with Dave & Doris. It was really, really good, but we didn't have a decanter, so Dave and I had to sit and be patience. Big, deep, rich and oh so flavorful... time in the bottle is definitely helping this as this get even better and this bottle was even more smooth and balanced. And as the night progressed, it just got better and better. Still many years ahead. Not to beat a dead horse, but... Decant, Decant, Decant!

And I should point out that I grade exceptionally hard. I have over 1,000 notes and I don't think I have TEN 93 or higher scores, but I have to say, this is closing in on it!

Drinking wonderfully still 23 years later. Had the nose and taste of an older old world Bordeaux. Went wonderfully with a roast beef dinner.

Recent wine club shipment about a month ago, so why not? I've been feeling 'over-cabbed' lately. Pnp'd and enjoyed a glass each day over the last 3-4 days simply in the fridge with the cork back in the bottle, and I must say it remained very consistent throughout, never dropping off or taking on any odd flavors. Great dark fruit and the glass somehow just seems heavier with this wine in it. More 'there' there than with your average Cali Zin, which is usually just pepper and fruit. Very deep/spicy dark berry fruit, great brambles on the nose. The balance is impeccable with the fruit and acidity perfectly matched. I'd say there's a little more spice on the nose than on the palate but that may just be me. In any event this is a very nice wine and the club pricing vs retail makes it very good qpr for a higher end zin.

one of my top 3 favorite zins, not overly jammy and with just the right amount of spice. Easy to drink and smooth despite it's 14.7% abv. Very nice wine to drink with pepperoni pizza.

Wow! The best bottle to date. Coravined a pour off at the end of the evening while binge watching Justified on Prime Video......deep dark earthy brambly cab nose, just a touch of alc left on the nose. Excellent entry of juicy red/black fruit. A nice balance to the tannins and acidity and a great long ending with its mouthwatering acidity. This has energy and life and length....can go a lot longer but wow, it's in a nice place right now. The best bottle I've had to date.

After 1 hr breathing, showed luscious black fruits with blueberry notes. Tobacco, granite, vanilla all join in a sensory symphony. Firm tannin, but smooth finish, This is one of the finest wines I have tasted. 5 others concur. A BARGAIN at $80. I have 3 others that I will TRY not to open for at least a year. This will only get BETTER with more time.
IF you can find it.......cherish it.
