This is the way I like Ridge wine. These single vineyard wines need a good 7-10 years of age for me to really get to where I want them. Since I find that these can be a bit brash in their youthfulness I look for the claret style flavors that these wines can bring with age. This was tasty straight out of the bottle. A nice integration of dried cherry, baking spices, and vanilla with a structure that is still present but not forced. Lively acidity too. I am looking forward to drinking my last bottle soon.

Quite ripe. This wine has lots of fruit still and a very plush texture. I think that I might have started drinking these a bit earlier to have a bit more edge to the wine. It's not tired by any means, just soft and easy.

Super good. Lots of ripe red fruit left. Wine has def. moved into secondary flavors with lots of cedar, baking spice, and forest floor to go along with the lovely Sangiovese fruit. Drink up, it's not getting any better than this.

Wow. Drink thsi with some friends last week. Even after 9 years in the bottle this wine blossomed after being open for a half an hour. Tons of black chewy fruit with black pepper, deli meat and great length. A winner!

Very Chablis like. Aromas of soured milk, limestone and apple skin. Very crisp with good length; all about minerality, not so much fruit. Quite lovely.

Rich and plumy with lots of brown fruit flavors mixed with baking spice. Nice but not my bag... end of the bottle held up two days later under vacu-vin.

Yum. Classic Crozes here: nice meaty, smoke aromas fill the glass and the palate is full of peppery/savory flavors with just enough fruit to keep it balanced. Good acidity, long finish and very nice at the table with a lamb Osso Bucco. It is drinking well now and should hold for a few more years, but why wait?

This wine was delightful. Still full of bright fruit, nice mix of cherry, and spicy cola flvors with great structure and mouthwatering acidity. Much more backbone and grip then most Russian River Pinots made these days.

Way too young... but I wanted to get a sense of what the wine was like. Fairly rich and compact. Definitely needs time... will revisit in a couple of years.

Still holding up well... Green-gold coloring with lots of citrus aromatics. Fairly forward on the palate, tons of waxt, orange flavors that are a bit pithy. Some notes that are classic Albarino but riper. with a long finish that ends a bit savory. Drinks well now and should hold up for a bit longer.

Delicious. This pinot was full of cola, baking spices with nice sweet fruit. The body and nouthfell is complete and the finish was long and pleasing. The wine is singing right now and makes a wonderful match for the table.

I'll agree that this bottling is quite ripe. I pulled it out of the wine fridge to let it warm up a bit and after opening it I proceeded to let it cool back down by setting in the fridge. It is very fruti forward with lots of dark berry characters... brambly, earthy and heady this wine is a beast. I could see this lasting a little while longer for those that like the fruit to be a little subdued but right now there is a nice blanace going on and there is no better time than the present. Drink up.

Delicious. Starting to get oily and sheding it's baby fat. You can drink this now or drink over the next five years. Great with Vietnamese noodles.

Qute nice. We had this with some non-spicy Indian curries and it held up quite well. I would have liked a touch more acidity however..

Big, fruit driven pinot with lots of fruit and oak. Not very exciting on its own but went well with seared and roasted pork tendeloin with a mushroom rub. I think the earthy tones in the food worked well with the fruit in this.

e: brickish hue but still pretty bright

n: heady nose straight out of the bottle; kirsch; ceylon tea; hit toned red fruits (cranberry and red cherry); spicy... baking spices (clove and nutmeg come to mind); cedar; a touch of heat in the background that is not offensive; hibiscus/rosehip tea.

m: bright, juicy attack with a touch of sweetness; supple mid tones; nice lushness of fruit... not a heavy hitter, the fruit is definitely on the brighter side: dried cranberry, tart cherry; nice acidity and the tannins are polished (quite balanced). Nice minerality on the finish, almost chalky with a long warm and spicy end. Very nice bottling. Strutting it's stuff right now and should hold at this level for at least another year or two.
