Drank with roasted veal and roasted hearty root vestibules. Wine was a wonderful pairing with classic merlot based Pomerol, pencil lead, beautiful subtle dark fruit and just right tannins. Wine is drinking well, I’m glad I have more

This is a wine tha always seemed to have potential that was never realized. Now at 12 years old it is noticeable slipping never achieving anything beyond mediocrity. 86

Drank with a hardy roasted beef Christmas dinner and have to agree with cephomer, this wine has the sent of a nice firm Bordeaux, but not the follow through flavors. Pleasant enough to drink but certainly a disappointment from this vintner.

This wine surprised us by exceeding the expectation of a mid level CdP by showing loads of dark fruit, a nice palat of spices and a traditional backbone from CdP. It’s always fun to have a wine outperform expectations as this one did. 94

The wine was drunk against a 2006 and 2011 and the evolution was clear with all of us favoring the 99 with its beautifully balanced tenor, soft tannins and still noticeable dark fruit. A very slight brick is starting to show, but that is the only indication the wine is 19 years old. The wine clearly has many more years.

This is one of the few wines that have gone down my kitchen drain, not palatable-probably just a bad bottle?

This wine is maturing into a Nicky refined Crozes at a great price. Plenty of dark rich fruit and solid backbone of tannin. 92

The 1992 Silver Oak effort is amazing, considering the way the established wine critics viewed the wine. 25 years latter it showing better the most of the high point wines of the day. This bottle holds all the classic cab fragrance and flavors, cedar, pencil lead, licorce , leaf mold and beautiful dark fruit. 94

This wine has reached levels of complexities I don't find in Zinfandels, loads of dark fruit, noticable eucalyptus, interesting spice, just a beautiful wine. 93

Drank with grilled caribou kakbobs with roasted root vegetables. This big Cabernet is only beginning to show itself with noticable pencile lead, celery and tannin backbone. A very nice wine that has more to offer with time. 94

An unexpected treasure. The wine is a big fruitful beauty with silky tannins. A classic Rhone, but more lush than past Gigondas. 94

Giving this wine some time in the cellar just has not helped it add the muscle it needs. Too bad I have 4 more. 86

A beautiful Cabernet that is drinking at its prime. Noticable eucalyptus and cedar nose, medium body backed with rich dark fruit and blended tannins. An exceptional pairing with osso bucco. 96

Drank at an older California Cab tasting, this was the oldest of 10 wines and clearly past its prime. Still held some middle fruit flavors and reasonable body, but no tannins or expected Cab nuance. 89

Drank at an older California Cab tasting. This was the second oldest wine and while the wine still had decent dark fruit and some cedar and classic Cab flavors it was clearly fading and the tannins are mostly gone. An odd herbal must nose stayed with the wine over the 6 hour tasting. 90

Another exceptional Zinfandel from Bedrock. Layers of jammy fruit covered with spicy bright Zinfandel flavors, perfect with a sausage pizza on a winter Friday night.

Wine evolved through a simple meal from heavy ripe dark fruit to classic smoke, meat lush Syrah flavors, once again a Carlisle classic, this time with 11 years of maturity.

Opened 2 hours before dinner it was so closed by the time the meal was served we put it away for the next day. Over the next 24 hours the wine opened a little, but still closed. I'm leaving this wine alone for at least a year. 85

Drank with a Caesar salad and baked potato. Wine seemed tight and not fully developed, is this yet to come, or as good as it gets. I'll give it a couple more years before I try another. 88
